Ready to Apply CT Community Colleges- Nursing Program 2010

U.S.A. Connecticut

Published

I was hoping to continue a great thread that I read last year, Ready to Apply CT Colleges 2009. It was a bunch of people looking to get into the CT Community Colleges nursing program for 2009-2010 academic year! They really banded together and answered questions for each other.

I was hoping to start the same thing for this year.

So, applications for the 2011-2012 year come out in just over a month. November 1st!!!

What has everyone been doing to prepare for the application process. What classes are you currently taking? Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? What was your score? What school is your 1st choice?

Speak up people!

I was accepted to Gateway this fall!!!

I've been accepted into Three Rivers for the fall semester. I hope to meet up with other future classmates here. Good luck to everyone, accepted or waitlisted, that your plans all work out for the best. I thought I'd be more excited, but I'm overwhelmed by the thought of "how am I going to do all of this?" Things will work out.

I'm sad to say I was wait listed for Gateway... Rec'd my letter today : (....

Hey all, congratulations to all that have gotten thier acceptance letters :yeah:and hang in there for those that have been put on the wait list (it's ain't over till it's over). I've been following this blog since January with many of the same anxiousness and hopefullness that everyone has been exhibiting. I got my letter yesterday. I am happy to report that I have been accepted into the RN Program at my first choice school, Capital CC :D

Does anybody know how many people were accepted off the wait list for Gateway last year?

How many people are in the fall class? How many in the spring?

Is there any way of knowing if they've started accepting people off the list? Or what number they're up to?

If you know the answer to one of the other CT community schools, I'd love to hear that too...

got my waiting list letter today for gateway. 23 out of 71 :crying2:. anyone know what my chances may be.

If I am not mistaken the waitlist is program wide. When your number comes up you may be offered a spot at whatever school has an opening. Thats what we were told last year anyway. Maybe things have changed...

Congrats to everyone who got in... Capital students prepare yourself.. The program is difficult and very intense. Especially your first 8 weeks with labs and lecture. Enjoy your summer. Seriously relax don't even think about school this summer. Ooops :uhoh3: there is the med calc exam that you have to self study for over the summer.... Besides that though relax and don't think of school..:)

Just found out i've been accepted to Gateway for the fall 2010 semester! Finally, I can breathe knowing all of this hard work has paid off! I wouldn't consider my credentials as 'competitive', I am an overall B student (with A's here and there) and scored relatively low on the TEAS (as compared to other scores I have been seeing). Don't give up hope if you didn't get in.. just keep trying! Now I just need to figure out how I am going to be able to meet the academic demands of the program while working enough to support myself.. ouch, this brings on a another bucket of worries.

Has anyone else been accepted to Gateway this fall? I'd love to chat with someone who may have more insight on the program, I was really only looking into BHSN (still waiting for that letter) .. so many questions! AH! :)

Congrats to all of you who have been accepted already! :yeah:

I got waitlisted at Nvcc #31 out of 119.

I called hartford and they said we will not hear anything for another 4 weeks but she did advise me that this is the biggest group they have seen in years.

She also told me i could call back and see what # they were on but give her a month.

Congratulations to all that got in

to all the waitlist think of how many people got in at other places like BSN programs and bridgeport hospital or something just does not work like financial aid or they dont get there stuff in on time, that opens spots.

Dont stop pushing forward!!!!!!!:clown:

I just spoke to someone at Gateway -- the waitlist numbers we're all getting ARE school-specific. There is NOT one big list for all 5 schools.

I wish they would make all this clearer in their letters : (

I'm #21/71 at Gateway... Just hoping that leaves me some chance!!

To everyone who has been wait-listed... keep us updated if you get some news!!

Congrats to everyone accepted :)

Hi everyone!

I have also been wait listed at Three Rivers, but I am hopeful it will move quickly. I'm excited I found this forum--it's nice to talk to other applicants in the same situations! Congrats and GOOD LUCK to all that have been accepted as well as to those who have been wait listed. Hopefully we can keep this thread updated so we know how each school is doing on their wait list movement :)
