  1. :30I am a nursing student at NWCC, first class. On the 30th of this month we will be moving into our second year. They are now offering clinical on thursday and friday or friday and saturday.. It is a work in progress, It is a wonderful program. Small classes and evening hours, lecture is on tuesday, depending on the time of year depends on the hours. 4 or 5 til 9:30 for lecture and clinical (lab or off campus time is usually 2-10:30 or 2-9:30). I cannot tell you things will not change in the future but this is what it is for us. All the best to you! You can take pre and co reqs at any Community college. Hope this helps
  2. I am grateful to be in a program!!!!!
  3. I am a nursing student at one of the community colleges. This is my thought, it is 4, 16 week semesters!!!!!!!!!! Wear what they want, do as they say, listen to what they want to share with you!!!! Then you are out!!!!!!!!! Ya never know, when you get out in the real world the boss might tell you what to wear and how high to keep your hair...... If you want it bad enough you will do it!!!!!!
  4. Congratulations Dave8
  5. Last fall they took 12 from the wait list..... So your odds are probably pretty good..... go get a physical, have all titers drawn, ppd, CPR. just to be on the safe side...... that is just what I would do.
  6. We have lecture on tuesday from 5-930 and Lab (clinical) from 230-930 on friday and saturday. They extend it in the summer 4-930 and 2-1030 i believe
  7. nef, they are changing the amount of applicants as the years go on. I believe they accepted 30 something for January 2012 not many applicants, but I am sure everyone heard the same thing (amt of applicants) so i am sure the numbers will jump the following year. The max they will end up taking in 48 like the rest of the colleges
  8. nef203, I would definately apply. Yes it is accelerated but you are done in 15 months, just make sure all pre and co reqs are done. I love that it is a small school and the professors are always willing to help.

  10. Did anyone get accepted to northwestern?
  11. I was waitlisted last year at Naugatuck valley and ended up with a spot at Norwalk. Then applied for Northwestern's program and was accepted there. so i gave up my spot at norwalk so someone else that was waitlisted got in.
  12. Micro needs to be completed during your first semester of nursing school. Keep your eyes open for summer micro classes. If they do not pay in time they get kick out and a spot opens. I am currently in the first year and very glad I already took Micro and all other classes except nursing. We do have some ppl in class that are taking micro and nursing and they are very stressed!!!!!!!!
  13. Saint Mary's Hospital is looking for new grads to start in the summer. Check out the website
