Rady Children's Nurse Residency Summer 2020

Hello all!

I couldn't find a discussion for the Summer 2020 program so I thought I would start one! What did everyone apply for?

Does anyone know if Rady accepts many out-of-state applicants?

I got one too! Yeah I was thinking it would be more personality focused but who knows!

Updating to announce that I got the official NLIC letter from Rady. I’m sure the letters are the same for each person but they encouraged me to gain some acute care experience and then consider the new to Pedi/NICU programs. Congratulations to those that made it to the second round interviews! What were your previous experiences/preceptorships if you don’t mind me asking? Oh and do you guys live in state or out of state?

Got the call to schedule the 2nd interview.. she called it a “peer” interview.. wonder what that means LOL

Yeah I’m not too sure how to prep for this one! It’s only going to be 20 minutes too

I asked and from what I gather it's going to be 5-6 nurses who work on the floor. I didn't know it was only 20 minutes! That doesn't seem like long at all!

Mines on 5/12! Yeah she said it’s from 8-8:20am, I wonder how many people have second interviews.

I worked with a girl who is a PCA on that unit yesterday.. she said she believes there are 8 people with 2nd interviews
