Or, $7,500 if you just want her virtually. Good to know that negligent homicide is such a lucrative endeavor.

Jeez o peet! Not sure why you're so fired up about what I said. Where did I say you can't express your opinion? We disagree...so what? I'm an absolute stranger to you. Forums like this are a great way to discuss different opinions. Sometimes we learn things. Sometimes we change our minds. Sometimes we don't. Rather than responding with accusations, snark and anger how about we try having a discussion without the personal attacks? If you'd rather not that's fine too but may I suggest you go ahead and block me since I seem to have upset you so badly. You have a great day too! 🙂

Thus is a "forum" where people may speak as long as it is civil. Wuzzie responded to your opinion and explained why she disagreed. You are lashing back instead of defending your opinion.

Perfection is not required, just professional attention to detail and correct processin order to protect vulnerable patients. Did you intend your remark to have a condescending tone?

orgs cough that up easily when putting on a conference - it's at the lower end in that biz, the real big name experts pull in $50k+ for a speech

Not at a SNA meeting is anyone pulling in $50,000. I doubt that anyone else but Rhonda is pulling in $10,000. This is an honorium payment, not a Las Vegas event.

Why do you get an opinion?
Yet anyone who disagrees with you needs to sit down and shut up?

I agree, $50K and up is for folks like Atul Gawande and it's also a matter of how hot they are at the time - a conference is still a show, no matter if it's by some state nursing association at a Holiday Inn meeting room or a major defense contractor at McCormick Place and you've got to get people to pay money and show up
RaDonda is reliable clickbait that way when the audience includes lots of nurses
But everything is bigger in Texas and she's on their speaker lineup with several others so Texas ANA is coughing up decent money for speakers, which they simply extort from sponsors, vendors and registrants - this is the chance for a nursing org to make some money because dues alone is just pocket change

Do you think the SNA meeting will collect more than Rhonda's $10,000 fee in increased attendance? I don't, but please let me know if I'm wrong.

It would be hard to say for certain without being rigorous about assessing that question somehow, but the Texas ANA Facebook page has been trying to drum up business for months in the usual ways (early bird discounts, add-on 'fun' stuff, sneak peeks at the program, etc) - and the only featured speaker post that got any likes and positive comments was hers
Certainly no outcry or questioning I'm aware of
I think they have two other speakers worth hearing - author Sarah DiGregorio (Taking Care) and Dr Kenya Beard - but for them it's crickets on FB
Long story short - I'm going to bet that a decent handful of nurses decided to get off the fence and attend because she's on the program - $10,000 worth would mean 200-300 such nurses, so maybe not - but all the money goes into and out of the same pot so as long as it's not a bust they'll consider it a success
