Hi, I work in hospital in the NY area, and we have cases of pts. with bedbugs like every 2 weeks! I am terrified of them or taking them home, sometimes the ER doesnt catch them first and this pt. has 2-3 tranfers to different units befoe they r found.
I just want to know:
How do u assess for them? are there bites you have to look for? and where?
How big are they exactly?
and if u can state if your in the NY area!
TIA:)
:igtsyt: our vet does not approve of the treated mattress and pillow covers if you have cats and dogs(especially puppies and kittens) who sleep with you even on top of the covers.
bedbugs! eeewww...
really, why is that?
my daughter spent the night in a scanky hotel with a friend while on a trip to or. she called me the next day and told me she had bites all over her legs. when she got home, i made her take her clothes off outside, and put on a long t shirt. i took the clothes, and duffle bag and washed them in hot water and dried them in a medium hot dryer. the t shirt was tossed in the outside garbage. i took no chances.
haven't seen them this way, but they worry me. nasty things.

he doesn't approve because of the chemicals used. we came back from one trip to paris, where we stayed in a first class hotel, but it was infested anyway. back before 9 11, you could act as a currier or a major company and carry a portfolio of documents, (and no luggage at all) deliver them to someone waiting for you at the airport, and be taken by driver to an upscale hotel. the company paid your first class or business class round trip fare plus hotel as payment. we traveled as a couple and just had to buy one ticket and my husband carried all our baggage. that was over the week of christmas and management was very apologetic and we didn't have to pay for any of our hotel meals. many restaurants, cafes, bistros, etc. were closed on christmas, the day before, and the day after.
he feels young animals especially should not be exposed to any more chemicals than absolutely necessary.

Some bed bugs have been found to be carrying drug resistant bacteria.
It's one thing after another....sigh...
