My wife and I are thinking of moving to Colorado after we get our R.N. license. Any information about different cities, towns, hospitals, and pay would be helpfull. We live in a nice town in California 12,000 population and have 3 boys ages 6, 10, and 12. Thank you for your help.
Marynochka, Denver Regional is the only hospital that posts actual salary ranges on its job search site.
Their RN pay is $24.30 for someone with a minimum of 1-2 years. That pay range goes up to a midrange of $31.59, and up to $38.89 at max pay.
The $24.30 would just be a base and if you worked NOC etc. you'd be getting more per hour.
It's true though that our cost of living is much higher than in Iowa. I think it's a great place to live, even so.
New grads make $23/hr at Memorial in Colorado Springs. It is posted on their website and they are hiring new grads as of now. ER nurses make $23 - 36 depending on experience. This is all straight from their website. https://www.healthcaresource.com/mem/index.cfm?fuseaction=search.jobDetails&template=dsp_job_details.cfm&cJobId=758938
Wow, that's great! It's NOT surprising to me that the hospitals will work very hard to keep wages suppressed and especially so, for the new grads. That's why people in Colorado need to vote YES on the propositions to ALLOW unions to come in and protect them. Break the "right to work" state and move forward!!

Can anybody tell me what kind of hourly wage I can expect in Colorado? I plan moving to Colorado, Denver-Boulder area. I have 1 year LPN experience and 2 years RN experience on med.surg/ortho floor. I know that Colorado is quite expensive to live. IT makes me a little nervous. Will I be able to get dissent salary to support myself and my child? I live in IA now and make $20/hr + $3 shift differentials. I'm hoping to get more in CO.
