How broad you take this term? Who do you consider to be "nursing staff"?

I guess I see it as a broad term. Nursing staff would be nurses, assistants, techs, managers, supervisors, ect.

I think it depends on the context. One of those things you might have to clarify as it comes up.

I consider "nursing staff" to be the nurses, period. That would be LPNs/RNs.

Aides and nurses

in our acute care facility, nurses, aides, or techs, er techs, and unit secretaries are all under the Nursing dept. Therefore, a unit secretary is considered as "part of nursing" for puposes such as nurses week everyone is included for gifts except the unit secretaries who have their own day "Secretaries Day".

Nursing DEPARTMENT staff includes all who work there. So, depending on context, the term is used interchangeably

This is what its considered at my hospital. Anyone that reports to the dept of Nursing, is basically nursing staff.

nursing staff is any type of nurse (cna, lpn, rn...) that takes care of patients, everybody else is admin, support, etc.

Anybody who is required to hold a license or certificate issued by the BON.
