Questions about Seton Versant RN Residency in Austin

Published

I have just been accepted into the Seton RN residency and can answer any questions you may have. I will also be creating a post throughout my experience in the residency. Ask away!

Kat_Walk - I haven't heard anything else, but Michele told me it could take hr a couple weeks to get the paperwork to me. I imagine they're pretty busy right now (though I agree it's hard not to be excited/ready to make it official).

And I graduated from a school in CA... I'll be relocating to Austin. Any recommendations on the best places to live, etc would be appreciated!!

@RnBritt what hospital will you working for? Also, how much are you willing to pay?

All,

I finally heard back from one of the units I applied to. I have an interview for the Psych ED at Brack on Friday. EEEeeEEEee. Super excited. *fingers crosssssed*

Glad to see everyone is getting offers where they want. That's always a great feeling, that all that hard work and late study nights is paying off!

@theresa.accord - I'll be at SMCA and I'm looking at a max of 1250. I also have a dog (25 lb and won't be on a breed restriction lists). Apartment hunting from another state is definitely a new experience!

And good luck for your interview tomorrow!!

Congratulations to all!

After this long process of interviews I finally made a decision that was best for me, my family and my future career. I accepted an offer for SMCA ICU. Hope to see you all this June.

@RNBritt, what part of Cali are you from? I was born and raised in San Diego and have been living here in Austin since 2010 (due to the military).

Congrats annbananz! Was curious as to why you chose SMCA over UMCB? I had an interview for both, but cancelled my interview at SMCA once I was offered Brack (my first choice because I love trauma). I'm moving down from Dallas, so I have no experience with either hospital. Is the only major difference just the types of patients? Feel free to PM me/not answer if this question is too personal!

Hi All!!

I just had a phone interview with the PACU. They only have one spot and are still interviewing candidates. I'm super nervous!! Good luck everyone!

@RNbritt - I've lived in Austin for 8 years and can show you the ropes. Feel free to email me ([email protected]) and we can talk more

I have a phone interview next week with peds! Has anyone else had one? I am so excited
