Questions about Seton Versant RN Residency in Austin

Published

I have just been accepted into the Seton RN residency and can answer any questions you may have. I will also be creating a post throughout my experience in the residency. Ask away!

Congrats texaslvn12!!! Super excited for you!!!!!

Im still waiting for part II. I'm getting scared that I won't get an interview before they have made their final decisions..... I did get in contact with the psych ed rn mgr. Haf a mini phone interview. That's my number 1 pick. *fingers crossed*

Just got my call from HR and have officially accepted my place in the June cohort! Found out what I will be making and what the differential is for nights and weekends. They told me they'll send an email containing all the information about benefits, NCLEX deadlines and scheduling a health screening day pretty soon, so I should check my email multiple times a day.

Can't believe how fast everything is happening!

Thank you so much everyone! How did the interviews today go? I heard 8 will be making decisions as early as tomorrow?

I just got that call too, 0o10. I'll see you June 23rd! :) I got an extra .19/hr for being an LVN for two years, LOL. But I'll take it. Did you happen to ask when the "Evening" starts for the differential? She was talking so fast and so much, I didn't get a chance to.

@texaslvn12 , CONGRATS!

@Oo10 , if you don't mind me asking, what is the starting wage and differentials? I'm trying to budget everything already. If you don't feel comfortable posting here , feel free to send me a PM.

I can't send private messages because I haven't posted enough :( I shouldn't get in trouble for posting this right? lol.

Base pay is 23.19/hr with +4 night differential and +2.25 on top of that for weekend nights.

I believe you get the 2.25 for weekends no matter what. So even if you're day shift, if you work a Saturday, it's 25.44/hr. BTW, they also told me all floors get paid the same no matter what. med/surg, l&d, ICU, all start at 23.19.

Also, I thought the .19 of the 23 was my "experience raise" but I guess not. I will need to ask about that when I receive the paper work bc in my original offer I was told I would get a little more due to experience.

Thanks for the info. I'm getting worried because HR never called me today. I'm sure I'm just being paranoid, but still! I just want to get the ball rolling.

Hey ya'll. I just got part II and of course the site is down for maintenance. So, I'm trying to figure out the portion for the Degree part; it says ALL applicants must use MED for degree and MED for major. Did ya'll do this? Very confused? Please HELP! Haha.

No, that's just an example for medical students. Use nursing for major and then ADN or BSN, for degree, whichever you are. Hope that helps

Interviews went well today (I am hoping).

We will see...I was told to expect a final answer by Wednesday next week at the latest.

Thanks Oo10 for that information! Very helpful!
