  1. Thanks for the info. I'm getting worried because HR never called me today. I'm sure I'm just being paranoid, but still! I just want to get the ball rolling.
  2. @texaslvn12 , CONGRATS! @Oo10 , if you don't mind me asking, what is the starting wage and differentials? I'm trying to budget everything already. If you don't feel comfortable posting here , feel free to send me a PM.
  3. Thank you for the congratulatory comments, everyone. I'm very excited. I'm wishing the best for all of you. @runnerchick, I will echo what has been said here in the past, the interviews are highly behavioral. My best advice is to be honest and upfront with them. Don't try to give staged or reheorificed answers, rather, give answers from the heart. You will seem much more real that way. They are interviewing your personality more than you as a nurse. If they ask a negative question such as "tell me about a time you failed", give a real example and don't dance around it, they will appreciate your honesty and accountability. Make sure you have some thoughtful questions in mind for the end of interviews. Feel confident in yourself and you will come across as confident! Good luck!
  4. I was just offered a position at UMCB's IMC unit. Looks like I might be seeing you around, Oo10! I am beyond ecstatic right now! Everyone, keep your heads up if you haven't heard anything yet!
  5. Annbananz, which position at UMCB were you offered ? P.S. congratulations
  6. I applied today as well. I chose critical care (my tech experience is in ICU), and then 3 acute care positions (Telemetry, Neurology, and Med/Surg) although at the Open House I'll be handing my resume to just about anybody I can. I'll be coming from San Antonio. Good luck to everyone!
  7. Hello all -- I recently completed my second semester of a BSN program and was hired into a Surgical/Trauma/Neurosurgical ICU unit as a tech. My first day of orientation is Wednesday and I was wondering if any of the nurses/techs on here had some advice for: a) What things I can do to be a great tech on the floor and build rapport with the staff b) What sorts of things I'd want to avoid doing as a tech on a floor like this c) And lastly, anything I can read up on to prepare for this job Any tips or help would be appreciated. I am trying to be as prepared as possible. Thanks in advance!
  8. Got accepted! 83.3 TEAS score, 3.5 pre-req GPA. Hang in there guys. Congratulations to all who have been accepted already.
  9. Which class or concept has given you the most trouble? Is there anything that's been difficult for you to adjust to? I'm glad to hear some kind words about the professors! It sounds exciting.
  10. thanks for the information girlwarrior, hope your studies are going well. do you have any tips or advice going in to first semester? anything particularly bad or awesome about the program itself?
  11. Got mine at 9:17 a.m. this morning as well. Everyone should check their e-mails and hopefully get it at some point today if you haven't yet. Remember, everything is due by Wednesday at 5 p.m. and it becomes a waiting game from there! BUT I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER. I think I'll just induce myself into a coma until April 1st and skip all of my classes.
  12. pretty sure someone posted another one at some point, probably because no one has been posting in these threads lol, which shocks me after having read the previous years' threads. anyway...good luck! has anyone received a supplemental application yet? they said they would be going out in early/mid-february.
  13. I am one of those students anxiously awaiting an acceptance letter. I'm quite nervous...I'm right on the programs averages for accepted students. They average about a 3.5 pre-req GPA and an 84 on the TEAS. I'm at a 3.6 and an 83.3 on TEAS. I wish it was the end of March already
