I see lots of posts about passing or failing with 75 questions, just curious what the stats are. I would like to think that nursing school prepares us enough that those who get 75 are mostly passing?
So, here's what happened to me...
75 questions in less than one hour.
I felt like the questions were being consistent, and if I got a question wrong I knew I got one similar. However, I got a good bit of prioritization, delegation, teaching, 3-4 SATA, medications, and infection control.
I feel ambivalent. I can't tell if it was hard or easy or both... or medium? medium rare? Har har.
thanks for the support. i'll be in touch. finding out in 48 hours.
I feel so much better now that I saw a few people posting that they passed with 75 and actually felt good about it after taking the exam. I took my test this morning and it shut off at 75. I felt pretty good about it leaving the exam, especially since I knew that 75 questions means you bombed it or did really well. I thought to myself that there is no way I could have bombed it. I've done well in school and my school consistantly has a 95-100% pass rate. I felt good about it, that is, until I came on here. Eveyone was saying how they had such hard questions and felt like they failed. Someone even said if you do come out feeling like you passed after 75 questions, you probably didn't. I agree that it wasn't the easiest exam I've ever had, like another poster stated, but I also didn't think it was a whole bunch of questions out of left field, like I expected. I didn't feel like I got a lot of REALLY hard questions. Now I'm worried and I'm going to worry until those results come in. I'll let you guys know.
Took the NCLEX in Nov. 2008 after my son was born. FAILED with 75 questions. I was devestated, but got over it quickly. Just took the test on the 23 of Feb. and PASSED with 75 questions. So.......with 75 questions it can definitely go both ways. I am so relieved that it is behind me. GOOD LUCK to those who are taking it in the future:D
I took my boards two days ago and I only had 75 questions. I had mixed feelings when leaving the testing site and had absolutely no idea how I did. I kept thinking back to the exam. I only had 1 SATA, no pedi questions, 1 maternity and mostly all meds, side effects, teaching, priorities, & infection control. I found myself guessing on many questions. The only thing that reassured me was that I felt the exam was countinously throwing out hard questions at the end...so I felt that I might just have a chance!!! I checked my Quick results today and I PASSED!!! Even if you feel like you failed there's no way to know until you get your results. The odds are 85% chance of passing the first time. If you take the boards and feel like it was a challenging exam, then the odds of passing are probably in your favor (it means the computer thinks you can answer the hard questions!). I also realized that SATA questions may be considered "hard questions" but if you don't get many, it doesn't mean you necessarily failed. I hope this helps relieve some anxiety for future test-takers. Just think postitive and do many practice questions!! Good luck to all taking the NCLEX in the future!!
Hi, I took my NCLEX Oct. 2, 2008. I had 75 questions in about 1.5 hours. I just knew I failed, the darn questions were so hard. I wanted to shake the monitor and make it give me more questions. Repeat...... I just new I failed, then got my quick results 2 days later and I passed....I was so relieved, I thanked the computerized voice over the phone! :redpinkhe
