I see lots of posts about passing or failing with 75 questions, just curious what the stats are. I would like to think that nursing school prepares us enough that those who get 75 are mostly passing?

Hi everyone I just took the NCLEX today on April fools day!.. Anyhow I too received 75 Questions and 10 SATA Q's with No calc, no drag-drop questions, very straight forwards. I have to say that I studied for 11/2 straight after being outta school since June of 2008! Anyhow I was really...really....REALLY nervous about the test.. I couldn't sleep actually slept for 1 hour. Was shaking ( I know I have terrible test anxiety) Couldn't eat breakfast i felt like i was going to throw it up..Anyhow long story short As i arrived to the testing center and went and sat down.. I looked at the 1st question and was like " Oh its not that bad" then i actually became relaxed as the questions kept coming.. For me not being out of school for a while I felt like I was going to be there (for the 265Q) but when 74 came along I was anxious to see if it would turn off and to my surprise it did! I feel relieved that it stopped at 75 but I don't feel that my questions were hard? I got alot of infection control, delegation, prioritizing, a couple meds... and a couple of Peds questions no math thank god! and no OB..HALLELUJAH! I don't feel like I did bad..and everyone tells me that since I got 10 SATA i should be ok..Should I be worried or what? I didn't feel like I failed..well see..I hope I wont be eating my words by finding out i terribly failed.......
Yeah well guess I didnt eat my words..Test wasn't as what I expected..Thought it was really easy..I've had harder tests in nursing school..and sorry to sound as if i'm bragging but when I walked out of the test center i kinda felt confident that I passed. and I think thats whats important that after you take the test to feel positive afterwards..anyhow good luck to all you nurses and dont think its ever too late to take the nclex..I took it allmost 10 months after I graduated and I passed w/ 75 Q!
My friend and I took the NCLEX on April 9. I raised my hand, turned my head to the side and saw my friend's hand raised too. I freaked when my screen went blank. My friend and I were extremely disappointed, she and I went to Chili's to have a couple of drinks because we were so distraught. The last thing I wanted was for the questions to stop at 75. I thought the exam was an absolute nightmare. I wanted to beat the screen especially after getting numerous select all that apply. I never got any of those right on practice exams. It's as if the computer knows what your weaknesses are, it has no mercy. Reading the replies on this site made me feel a lot better. I thought for sure after taking the NCLEX I would feel a load off my back but instead it feels like a nightmare. After going through an emotional rollercoaster I'm happy to report my friend and I PASSED the NCLEX. We found out today, I'm glad we didn't have to wait until Monday. The anxiety and worry were already killing me.I don't know how I passed but at this point it doesn't matter. I'm glad the long journey is over and I can finally go back to having a normal life without studying, tests, the NCLEX, and grades on my mind. I am free again! If you stop at 75 questions there is HOPE that you did pass!!!!. Don't stress out (I know easier said than done) and keep positive thoughts in your mind.
i took my second nlcex last week and it stopped at 75 questions. i failed the first time with 120 questions. now im really scared what 75 means.. i got 8SATA, tons of prio and delegation, few meds, no math. i got infection control too. im really scared and i haven't had a decent sleep since last week. i've been reading forums and it somehow helped me with the anxiety im feeling. and plus, CA does not participate in quick results so i have to wait for another 2-3weeks! help!
Well i took my Nclex test 1st time March 24th and it stopped on 75 and i failed! i got the letter exactly 10 days after i took it! i saw that all my friends that passed saw their names 2-3 days after they took it! so pretty much if u dont see ur name in the nursing board u didnt make it! there are weird cases where people dont see their name and they have passed, they just had some delayed w paperwork! i thought that was my case! i'm trying again this May 11th! i feel ready! i'm taking kaplan again i score 60-65, this time im taking my time to read the questions, and also something that i have found very useful its the saunders book! very easy to read and understand! good luck to you!!! we are here to help each other!

Just took nclex this morning. There is absolutely no way I passed that thing! I graduated in 1989 and passed it the first time I took it. When I decided to stay home with my kids I went inactive and waited too long to restore (has to be within 5 yrs...but they dont tell you that) so I have to reboard. I studied using Kaplan and did fair, but within the "pass" limits, but these questions today were things I've never seen before. Seemed like it got a little easier as I went along, which of course makes me nervous and just when I was starting to feel a little more confident, it shut off at 75! I came home, of course told everyone im sure i failed, which Im sure i did lol and then i got online and ordered the NCSBN program and started studying again!!! May as well start preparing for the second go. Will find out wednesday morning hopefully.
