I see lots of posts about passing or failing with 75 questions, just curious what the stats are. I would like to think that nursing school prepares us enough that those who get 75 are mostly passing?
Hello...I took my exam last Wednesday...75 questions only and the computer shut down..When I got the results after the "48 longest hours of waiting"...I PASSED!!!!! PRAISE THE LORD!!! TO HIM ALL THE GLORY!!!
Guys, you really have to concentrate on infection control and prioritization...it took half of my 75 questions...God bless to those who are still waiting...and congrats to all who have passed!!! :yeah:
My state gives new nurses 90 days from graduation to pass the NCLEX. I had to plan my exam around my work schedule, so I took mine around day 80. It was later than I wanted, but it gave me more time to study. My school arranged for NCLEX tutors, but mine disappeared as soon as I told her I was changing my test date. The best slot I could find was in a suburban office park, a long bus ride from home.
I work the night shift, so waking up before noon can be a challenge. I showed up early, studied for a while, and took the exam. When it shut off at question 75, I almost panicked. I'd heard that you walk out feeling like you failed. I certainly did. I got my "pass" letter 5 days later.

LOL, I had 75 and I was sure I had failed! Of course I passed. In fact, last year when I took my boards, I Googled and found this exact thread
This poll shows that 83% or so of us passed with 75q, isn't that what the national average is of those that pass the first time taking the NCLEX!?! I guess our not so scientific poll substantiates this.
I took it this past Aug. I studied WAY too much and stressed WAY too much! Looking back I wish I would have taken it the first day I had the ATT.
I used Kaplan and Saunders. Kaplan helped with getting me used to how to break down the questions and not how to fall into traps. As far as content... there is no way to know what you are going to get. If you did well in school and are confident in what you know you should be OK.
I was one of those that passed with 75.
Good luck to those that are getting ready for the test!
