  1. Hi there, I graduated from Bellermine's Acel program in May of '08. It was a tough but very rewarding program. You will not be able to work and will be consumed by the program for 12 mo. but well worth it. I made great life long friends and got a great nursing education. I am not from Louisville and moved back to the Northwest after graduating but I can tell you when I was in school all the hospitals said that BUNS acel nurses where there favorite to hire. Also in clinicals in many of the hospitals we were alound to do a lot more than the other schools. Some schools were not contracted as well to be able to give there students full range to perform any task a nurse on the floor could do. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
  2. I graduated from The Bellarmine Acel program in May of '08. It was pricey but got me in and out in 12mo. You can get two federal loans for $10,500 each, I took them both and that paid for most of 2 semesters I had to add $1,500 or so to each, I now Pay $250 a month for those two loans to give you an idea. My parents paid for my 3rd semester, I think they felt bad when I was about to take out a private loan. I am from the West coast and moved to Louisville with $12,000, so I budegeted $1000 a month for life expenses and lived off that. Bellermine has some great instructors, I feel like I got a pretty good education. They seperate out into 3 groups of about 30 people to start, I think they lost about 15people or so along the way, most in the first semester. You get super close with your group of people, I have wonderful friendships that will last forever. Let me know if you have any questions.
  3. I had my BA already when I went to nursing school. The school I was at did not have a nursing program, so I just finished up and then looked into nursing school. I did a 12mo acell BSN program. I highly recommend it. You will then have a BA and a BSN, and get done in one year! If this is an option for you it was the best for me. You would have to not work though as it will take up all your time, and can be pricey. Good luck!
  4. Are you easily able to get into both schools? I already had a BA when looking into going to nursing schools. In Washington State, it is really hard to get into the 2 year programs you have to have all A's in your pre recs, and then it is a Lotto system. Here you have a much better chance of getting into 4 year or acel program. I loved out of state for 12months and did an 12mo acell BSN program for people with prior degrees. It was expresive but was done in one year.
  5. Thanks for this info I live in WA and didnt know this had chaged. This is great news!
  6. Augboy! You have given me hope I would love any help you could give. I have done Kaplin twice before (see my other post) Do you think I should do my own study and then take Kaplin again? Thanks so much, really you have no idea how your story has given me hope that my dream can come true!
  7. Hi I graduated in may of 08' took the NCLEX and failed with 265 Q, I live in WA so we can only take it 3 times every 105 days. I took it again that Oct. and admit I probably could have studied more, and failed at 75 Q the 2nd time. Both times I did Kaplin did all Kaplin Q and was in passing range. Much higher passing range the 2nd time, I credit this to I had seen the material before. It has now been over a year since my last atempt and nearly 2 years out of school. All I wanted in life was to be a nurse. I have had so much axiety about failing a 3rd time, I have just been living through the pain. I have to work full time to survive, and my biggest struggle is I dont know what would be good materal for success this time, how long to study what to study. I know people say Sauders book, but I am not a good "book reader learner". I would love some help or tips as to what you guys have done to study having failed before and being years out of school. I keep telling myself I can do this, but am struggling with what to do to prepare for success! Also what are you talking about the test changing again in April 2010? SHould I try to take it before that date? Help!! Thank you all and congrats and good lick to all of you!
  8. Did you Pass?! I hope so, I'm gearing up for round 3, treying to figure out suzannes plan, how did you study?
  9. I have failed twice... am worried because in WA you have to wait 95 days before testing again, it has been 8months since I graduated now, what are my chances what do you do if you never pass....just a waste? go back to school? anyone pass after failing and waiting this long?
  10. Your post was inspiring do you mind me asking how long was inbeween your testing, I failed the NCLEX, and have been working, and finished school 8 months ago... I feel like its almost hopeless now, its getting so far away.
  11. This helps. I to am a little unclear on how to get started with suzannes plan, as far as getting in contact with her.... just trying to get my 15 posts now!
  12. Congrats, I as well have failed twice...waiting to test for the third time. I live in WA so I have had to wait 95 days inbetween, I hope it happens I am getting farther and farther away its been 8 months since I graduated.... is it still possible?!!?
  13. you never know, I was always told if it seemed really hard you probably passed.
  14. I'm not sure what I am going to do this time, kinda at a loss I took thje Kaplin course twice! So that didnt help me, I am considering this susannes plan but I dont know if I can sit and read that whole saunders book, thats not how I learn. I did worst the 2nd time....265 the first time and failed at 75 the second.... I'm so upset becaus e I feel like I was so close that first time, if only got a fe more right maybe the outcome would have been different...let me know if you have any good ideas
  15. I have failed twice in WA so scared of failing a third time and not being able to test again, was is the whole country not the same!!! Seems a little unfair that I have to wait 91 days but if I lived an hour south I could take it in 45!!
