I see lots of posts about passing or failing with 75 questions, just curious what the stats are. I would like to think that nursing school prepares us enough that those who get 75 are mostly passing?

HI

I took it yesterday, had 75 questions, and found out this morning first from a friend on Facebook that I passed!

hi i took my exam last dec 19, 2008 i have no idea if i pass or failed coz my computer shut off

@ 75 questions without any computation. ca doesnt participate a quick result. i tried to check

their website but my name doesnt appear that means i failed already? its been 6 days already

i also called ca board they said they will release the result by mail. thanx!

WHOAAAA!!!! what a great relief.. GOD IS REALLY GREAT!!! I just received my result today and I passed.. i took my exam last December 2, 2008.. i stopped at 75 which includes 3 SATA, no computation, lots of drugs and prioritization... I really can't believe i pass coz the exam was really tough.. thank GOD.. AJA!!:yeah::nurse:

I take the NCLEX Jan 20th. I have been trying to study a little each day (2-3hrs.) and do lots of practice questions. I took the HURST review too. Im so nervous It makes me sick to my stomach just to think about it...:/

I got the minimum number of 85 questions, thought sure I had failed, but passed!

so I just took my NCLEX-RN today and the computer shut off at 75 questions. I walked out of the testing center honestly having no clue how I did. I really felt like I didn't do that well because some of my questions were really hard. I had medication questions on medications I had never even heard of. After letting my brain cool down a bit I thought about it and figured that I would have had to do really bad to fail in 75 and reading these posts has helped me but now that I am remembering my questions and looking up the answers I am realizing I got a lot wrong so I am freaking out that I failed now. Waiting these 2 days is torture!!:banghead::no:

I passed:yeah: thank goodness that the studying and the waiting is over with. Unfortunately I just had a friend take it this morning and he got 265 and of course feels like he failed, has anyone heard about the statistics of people getting 265 questions and either passing or failing?

Congrats!!!

I have heard of people failing at 75 and at 265, but I do think that if someone made it to 265,chances are more in their favor that she/he passed. What I mean is, I have heard of more people failing at like 220, 244 and failing more than people getting 265 and failing. But there have been people who fail at 265.

We all feel crappy when walking out of the testing center. That is completely normal. Its a nitemare.

Good luck to you. Hope your friend receives good news soon:)

thanks! I am keeping my fingers crossed for him to pass. I am thinking that if he was going to fail that he would have failed before 265 questions but we will find out soon.

I passed with 75 questions. I had a lot of priority and medications. I felt alright walking out of the test, but then as I kept thinking about questions, I felt worse and worse. Of course I looked up some of the meds and panicked when I realized I got them wrong. But, in the end I passed.

On the NCSBN website, they have a good explanation on how the test works. Basically everyone gets 50% right and 50% wrong, in order to assess what level of knowledge each person is at. If you are in the pass zone, you pass. If you are in the fail zone, you don't pass. I think that's why people feel horrible about the test afterwards. We aren't used to getting only 50% right.

Good luck to everyone taking it in the future. Remember that you know this stuff! You wouldn't have made it through the craziness of nursing school if you didn't! :wink2:

Hey just joined today looking for some reassurance after taking my NCLEX and having it stop after 75 questions. I walked out of there just feeling like I did terrible and it is so anti-climatic after all the time and energy we've put into school and studying for the NCLEX to walk out of the test feeling so beat up.

I live in california so no results for a while...wish we had quick results. I've spent the last 24 hours going over all the questions I feel I got wrong and just feel so defeated after the NCLEX.

Thanks for all the posts encouraging us 75 questioners that we can pass. Let's hope I do!

Hang in there!!!! I am sure you passed!!!
