I see lots of posts about passing or failing with 75 questions, just curious what the stats are. I would like to think that nursing school prepares us enough that those who get 75 are mostly passing?

I can tell you that you have now joined the scores of many that play the waiting game. It doesn't matter what types of questions the computer handed you and you can't read anything into it either. You must sit and wait and look at the website every day while you try not to look at the website. Good luck and keep us posted. :redpinkhe
:heartbeat i just took the nclex today for the second time. the first time i failed with taking 265 questions. today i had 75 questions and..... think i failed. i read the entire saunders book, did all the questions, and did an additional 50-100 questions a day using kaplan. i had alot of select all's, one med calc, tons of priority. i am so nervous, any one have any advice for me. i'll take anything right now. i keep thinking to myself, i studied so much more for this one, but i feel like such a failure.

be positive! and try not to worry until you get your results.... my friend actually recently was in the exact same situation (first had 265 questions and failed and then re-took the exam after using saunders and passed with 75 questions). sometimes are own worst enemies are ourselfs. we place a lot more pressure on ourselves than anyone else could ever place on us. so try to breathe and go do something fun to try and take your mind off of it for a few days until you can get your results... good luck and let us know how it goes.... i have faith that you passed....
i passed! way to go to extremes my first time i was there for 5 hrs - 265 questions, this time 1.5hrs and 75 questions. from the bottom of my heart i thought i failed i even started studying when i got home. but, the books are on the shelves and for the next couple of days i'm celebrating!!! yyyeeehhaaa! my second time around i read the entire saunders book and questions. also completed 50-100 questions on kaplan everyday for 5 wks., 5-6 days a week. i work part-time and have two children a two year old and my husband, no offense guys! i studied at night for about 2-4hrs. don't ever give up for those of you who haven't passed!! good luck!
As LPNs we had a minimum of 85 questions with a max of 205. The way that it was explained to us by the BON was that it goes off of a baseline. if your answers are at base or above you pass, if your answers are below base than you fail. I took the test and when it shut off at 85 questions, I felt like someone punched me. There were a lot of questions that I really had no idea the answer to but I read the question twice and then read the answers and did the whole process of elimination thing. I passed. From what I understand the program that I graduated from has a 97% pass rate. So I felt comfortable going into the test with the skills they taught us and the study guides to help us.
