265 questions on nclex bad or good?

265! I'm going to lose my mind any minute! anyone get that same amount?

I just took my NCLEX today at 8AM and I felt SOOOOO discouraged. 265 questions. I feel like somebody hit me in the face with a rock! What a test of endurance! Two of my friends who passed made it at 75....wow

It was a horrible experience. I was the last nursing student out of there, and I felt horrible, already plotting my reschedule. I wasn't so impatient during the test, and I almost teared up once, but didn't spill over. I did however, start crying when I got out to the car. I hadn't felt so dumb in a looooong time...Especially when I felt prepared going in. I studied, I passed nursing school Magna Cum Laude (university), and I was diligent....

Then I started getting text messages from many of my friends telling me that they were all praying for me..."I was up praying for you at 2 in the morning!" or "I prayed for you at 8AM!"..people were calling my mom asking her if I was in my exam and telling her that they were praying for me.

So I walked out of there feeling like I failed but who knows?

And you all have been so encouraging. Thank you. Pass or fail, I will update you all in a couple of days (hopefully pass will be the news you receive). I am also praying for you, fellow nursing grads...we'll make it

Hold on to that faith. I am waiting for mine, too. We all feel like that walking out of the exam. We actually use our brain every step of the way on the exam, I think that is why we feel so clueless!

I too tested at 265 and think I failed. So, hold on to that faity, as I will, too!:specs::specs:

Whoooooohoooooo!! I passed with 265 questions :D. There is hope go by your gut feeling... if you feel you passed you probably did.

If I can do it ...you all can do it.

FOr those of you waiting have faith and say a prayer. :saint:

For me, look out Emergency Room here I come.

guys... I DID NOT PASS.... ='((

I AM VERY disheartened right now.. i feel so fool..

i am a very diligent and i may say bright student when i was still in university... i really reviewed and prepared much for my exam.. but i dont knot what happened... =(( i cant stop from crying...

my parents always tell me that its alright,, that i may take the exam again... i dont know.. i am very confused guys... would i still have enough confidence and courage to take it the 2nd time??? would i be able to pass it the 2nd time?? how harder would i have to review again?? hay.... i am so depressed...

so sorry that happened. just keep at it though. i know that it is hard, but please don't let one test defeat you. sometimes things happen for a reason.... it's ok to grieve about this. u're absolutely entitled to it, but don't dwell on it too much... get up, cheer up, nothing will happen unless you make the choice to keep fighting.

it still hurts me much.. cant help but cry...

but im trynna fight... im trying to get up again iheartnurses...

im so thankful for having such supportive and loving parents!!! they said its okay and they will still help me with my re application..

as a matter of fact ill be sending my re examination form..

guys.. is it okay if i submit it today?? i just took my nclex last june 17..

then ill take my exam more than 45 days after my first try..

is it okay? or that 45-day policy applies to the reapplication process, meaning i can only apply 45 days after my first exam date??

hmmm....I did not pass either! Well. I have to admit that I was initially heartbroken, but I am not so much right now. I have this strength coming out of me that says "I am going to pass that test!" Just a matter of when now, eh? (hopefully next time I won't be there for 265 questions!).

So I registered on Vue to take it again, but now I have to wait for the BON (im from PA) to recognize that I didn't pass so they can give my my little packet and I can mail in my app to request to take it again! Sheesh. Dealing with the BON is more frustrating than finding out I failed.

I also brought a Kaplan strategy book 2008-2009 to help me. I've been doing ATI (for those familiar with the program), but it hasn't helped me much. Actually, no review book or question I've done is worded quite like NCLEX questions are worded, so I am hoping the Kaplan book will help me disect the questions and ease my mind a little bit. I have never been a good standardized test taker, so a big part of me wasn't very suprised by my results, but by golly, I am not going to give up! I don't know why I failed, but God is still God even when I don't understand His ways (I don't blame Him for failing either, fyi, just don't understand why I failed).

Anywho - my heart goes out to ya'll who have not passed. Hopeful16, I feel your pain! I really am happy for those of you who have passed. But to those who have not passed, be of good cheer. Many successful people have failed many times before succeeding. Many great nurses you have probably precepted with have failed NCLEX, some multiple times, before they became a nurse!

I know I will be a great nurse. My heart is in it, even if my body right now, is not. lol. I mean, I was one of the top students in my nursing class, so I know it is more than just a knowledge "thing," it is a "do you know how to take this exam" thing!

Still, does anybody have any study tips? Not just study tips, but tactical tips? I understand that review questions are key, but I also tried that the first time (though I will continue on with questions). My problem is more understanding the NCLEX questions. Any ideas? Thanks guys.

I found out I pass Nclex today and I got 265 questions, didn't feel good about it when I walked out but I pass and I am so happy. You get 265 questions if the computer hasnt determined if you are absolutely competent yet. Doesnt matter if you get 75 or 265, it stops when you have proven that you have met minimum competence to take care of parients as a new grad

You can also go to NCSBN who writes the NCLEX tests. Purchase the 5 week program I think its $69 read the chapter and then take the test. Its really good. It helped me pass...Also allnurses.com has a thread called FACTS its just one liners that will help you remember Meds and other stuff you might need to know for NCLEX.

Hopeful. I am so sorry you didnt pass. I took mine Monday and I also got 265 questions, I did pass but I was worried I didnt. Don't stop trying, you can pass it. If I had not passed I was prepared to take it again. Your heart will lighten up give it some time.
