I want to preface my post by saying I am NOT looking to get into a political debate/argument about right wingers/left wingers or any wingers..I am seriously wanting opinions about how to answer these questions as I am having these or similar questions asked of me and I honestly am not sure how to respond other that citing CDC/FDA information.
First, if masks/lockdowns are as effective as some would have people believe, what are places like California and NY, where some of the strictest mask/lockdown restriction were/are, in place having such terrible times with the virus much more than other places that had little or no mask/lockdown requirements?
Secondly, some political and/or social events/protests have been deemed "super spreader" while others have been ignored by experts. It seems those most criticized were Republican/Republican leaning while those ignored/excused were Democratic/Democratic leaning.
Again, I am not looking for political/social arguments, just a way to better answer the questions when asked than I am doing now.

This is worth noting in my opinion. This is why I'm not impressed with "we were meeting Biden's goal of one million a day on inauguration day" because Biden's one million a day, now upped to 1.5 million a day envisions the future and how to sustain it. Trump had no such goals on getting it into the hands of everyone, everywhere, at least none that has been revealed.
Of course it can't be proved weather under Trump the one million a day would have been sustained and his plans revealed so I guess there's that.
Fauci himself said that Biden's claim that the past administration didn't have a plan was false. And, in inauguration day we were already at Biden's goal of 1 million doses a day.
I'm not sure what you're speaking of when you say the past administration "hadnt really done anything ".
I think logically if someone saying that it will go away in the Summer or to inject bleach they actually do not have a good grasp of the virus or its capabilities. His denouncement of masks, social distancing, opposing the science, managing the Drs, rendering the CDC, etc, I put the blame on his administration and state categorically that they didn't have or were even interested in a plan.
SIGNIFICANTLY the people who cannot understand the MOST SIMPLE ADVICE of mask wearing and social distancing following his advice, and not being able to think for themselves, I ACTUALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK ABOUT SUCH PEOPLE! There are about 50 million people in this country who couldn't understand such simple advice or felt that the virus was innocuous or was a conspiracy. Not only are they unreachable in my opinion but they are extremely dangerous people! They risk their lives, their loved ones for someone who is the epitome of snake oil sales and we are supposed to understand and forget. It's the intelligence factor that eludes me!
You have to admit that he's not really that educated (suing people because of his transcripts and grades etc) Vocabulary, behaviors and I really wonder if that's the resonance for his supporters? They see themselves in him. His behaviors are their behaviors? He reflects themselves as they would like to be!
How scary is that? You act like an a***ole and instead of evolving to a better person because of the numerous things that you have screwed up through being an idiot, you double down and decide to have more of the same. I understand that racism and insecurities fueling their behaviors but the inability to recognize someone like Trump makes me question many things.
At what point do you grow out of recognizing that the friend who's the life and soul of the party, is always drunk or high, being fired, always suggesting criminal things, always in trouble, loud and obnoxious and is a thief, a liar, a cheat and should be avoided at all costs?

He really was not into learning; his goal was always to manipulate those around him into thinking he was educated. I read the book by his niece and he came from a family that did not respect learning or the achievements of its members unless a lot of $$ was made. Really sad and it looks like he is perpetuating those sick values in his children.
Of course this was her plan...to highlight the absurdity of republican leadership even now. Will the Iowa legislation become a super spreader for the variants?
