I am thinking about doing a career change and going to nursing school in my mid 40s. Do you think this is too late? I also have some health issues. What do you experts think? Can I make it?

Nope, definitely not too old. In fact, this is the time in which many people make career changes. Lots of people in your boat, and let me tell you, it's a pretty big boat.
People in their 50's are going into nursing for the first time. Go for it.

I'm starting nursing school next month at 41. My only question is...do any of you regret your career choice? Some of the posts on this board scare me to death!

Look at all you ladies go! You are all an inspiration to the OP! Great way to encourage one who questions her abilities! You all make me proud (47, been a nurse for 25 yrs!)

Nursing opens up a whole new world. So many opportunities. Sure, it is scary at times but know that your not alone. Good luck!!!

I won't tell you how old I am but it is over 60. I retook my RN NCLEX in May and got my licensed renwed. I work in a skilled, psychiatric facility part-time and will be taking my RN refresher next Monday.
Don't think twice. Go for it.

WHAT TO DO NEXT?
HELLO.
I AM NEW TO THIS FORUM. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW JUST WHERE SHOULD I GO AFTER COMPLETING SCHOOL FOR MEDICAL ASSISTANT? I HAVEN'T FOUND A JOB AS OF YET, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO GO FURTHER. I AM 57 YEARS OLD. MY GRAUATION WAS LAST MONTH. AND I HAVE PASSED MY CERTIFICATION EXAM. I LIVE IN THE CHICAGO AREA. MY STUDENT LOAN WILL BE LOOKING ME IN THE FACE IN ABOUT TWO OR THREE MONTHS AND I WOULD LIKE TO GO FOR LPN OR RN. ONLY RN WILL TAKE ME SO LONG BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE TO MEET SO MANY PREQU. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND A SCHOOL FOR CNA FIRST, BUT I CAN'T AFFORD ANY. CAN YOU HELP OUT ANY. THANKS
