PVT Works in NYS

Published

This trick does still work for NYS. Just put all of your information as if you were registering for an nclex exam. Put all of your card info with a WRONG expiration date or CCV code so that you don't risk any money. Then once you complete that page and click next. It'll take you to the next page to confirm. Once you confirm it'll take you to the next page. On that page if it says invalid card (fail) and if it says that you can't currently register at this time due to an open registration (pass)!

I'm in California, and I just took my NCLEX PN on Thursday. So it's been at least more than 24 hours since the exam, so I tried the trick, and I used an invalid expiration date. I got the pop-up stating "Our records indicate blah blah blah... Another registration cannot be made at this time." So... I used my card one more time, and then I used a valid expiration date, and abrakadabra, I got the same notification. I did shut off at 85, so I was obviously sweating bricks on the drive home. I'm still not confident enough that I scored a passing exam because I was given maybe at least 25-30(maybe 35 Select All That Apply) questions. But, initially trying the PVT, I am bound to get my hopes up because I obviously can't re-register for this dreadful exam lol..

I'm sorry you did the PVT (surely you must have read this thread before posting....right?) But in a nutshell your odds are very GOOD for passing! You had only the minimum number of questions, which means you did very well or very poorly. MOST people pass the first time out (somewhere around 90%).

Sit tight for official results. Odds are in your favor! What WON'T be in your favor is if you keep submitting card info to PearsonVue (the PVT); at some point there is a likelihood that you will get a 'bad pop up' which will have NO bearing on your real results, but will probably make you feel horrible :(

So....hang in there. Forget the PVT. And think happy thoughts that now you're done :)

Yea I read this whole thread and was obviously out of whack with all the debating/arguing. I decided to just try it for the heck of it. Yea I was risking a lot by even putting all valid expiration date and numbers, CCV, everything valid. Good thing I couldn't submit and re-register. I just checked my CC accounts and they're all still sitting with no activit or holds. Well I just tried it twice in a matter of 5min. I'm just going to wait for they stupid envelope in the mail. And good luck to the rest of you! í ½í¸

This is the best thing you've said thusfar :)

There's really no debate, and no argument: the facts are the facts. I believe it's very likely you'll pass, but I ALSO believe that if you keep doing that stupid trick, LOL....it could bite your bank account at some point! That's what I'm hoping you'll avoid.

At any rate, the waiting is definitely difficult, NO ONE likes it of course, but....it's almost over :D

OK! Just one more time, 72 hours later... Good pop-up still. Gah I just don't like how California doesn't do quick results. I really think I'm psyching myself out with the whole PVT and post-test anxiety.

A nurse is caring for a client who is admitted for post-NCLEX anxiety. The client states "let me try the PVT one more time, it's my only hope". The nurse will respond with which appropriate statement?

A) "It seems you have difficulty coping with your post-test fears"

B) "By all means use an invalid expiration date"

C) "Bruh, that good pop-up though"

D) "The PVT has not been working since August of 2014, let's work on your coping exercises"

Looks like SATA to me. A and D!

Why can't people just wait for their results without resorting to this utter nonsense?!?!??

Why? Because we are just as human as you are and can handle our post test anxiety with joking board-style question goof in any way we like. You don't expect everyone to mope and be mental for 3 or some off weeks do you?

Well, what do you think people did before?

You know, back when we had to walk uphill in the snow both ways to take the NCLEX. ;)

Or wait 3 months for results NO EXCEPTIONS !! ( up until 1993 in Florida)

Yes, when my mom graduated around that time in CT, I think she waited months as well. Imagine the sheer horror?
