PVT Works in NYS

Published

This trick does still work for NYS. Just put all of your information as if you were registering for an nclex exam. Put all of your card info with a WRONG expiration date or CCV code so that you don't risk any money. Then once you complete that page and click next. It'll take you to the next page to confirm. Once you confirm it'll take you to the next page. On that page if it says invalid card (fail) and if it says that you can't currently register at this time due to an open registration (pass)!

Although I have read in different forums that the Pearson vie trick is not accurate, it been success withwithin my cohort at least. The ones who failed were asked wereto reenter credit information and the ones who passed have gotten the "good pop up". Myself included. I have failed my first attempt at NCLEX, And the PVT was accurate for myself and others froandm my cohort who also failed. I suppose it can become complicated especially when it is merely a glitch in a system that could potentially be flawed. It has worked thus far, it should not be a reliable source, but for those of us from CA. who can not get quick results its the best we have.

I agree. .. Same here... It doesn't hurt to try it & pay for quick results for those states that it applies to... worst case scenario someone would have to retake their boards. .. which is not the end of the world!

So you're saying the "trick" doesn't work in CA? Why don't you meander over to the CA forum & go look. Or scroll through the NCLEX forum.

And not that I want to perpetuate the "trick" but this person lives in California & said she got the good pop up...

They didn't charge you but there are plenty of people who would beg to differ. Every time you do the trick you are risking $200.

Here is some more information regarding the quick results.

Once again it is up to the BON of every state to determine if they want to participate in receiving quick results.

You have received a lot of information but are not listening to it.

Do the self-proclaimed PVT experts respond to every single thread mentioning this? I find the generalizations and condescending things that you say to those coming here looking for or sharing information incredibly misleading and inaccurate.

OP-you are arguing with two of the most knowledgeable nurses on this subject on these forums and you continue to argue "just cos"?? Fresh out of school, just took the exam, the trick worked for you and so you just assume it is going to work for the other thousands of new nurses who are taking the exam this summer.

Ummm....did you already forget what you learned about evidence based practice? In this case evidence shows that PVT is not reliable! Sure, it will work for some people...but it isn't reliable enough to tell the world to use it, because IT IS NOT RELIABLE! You really need to try to learn from older more seasoned nurses, or you aren't going to have a successful career!

Please share some of this evidenced based practice supporting these claims with me.

There are about 982,310,629 threads on this topic. And in these threads, people WERE charged the $200 and still passed. Just because you haven't seen any of these threads or won't bother looking for them doesn't mean those people aren't out there.

Since you comment on this topic so frequently, I figured you would be able to recall at least a few of the posts that you claim support what you are saying. Based on the claims of most posting here that I have read, when done correctly, the PVT still appears to usually be accurate.

The post wasn't condescending or rude. You are generalizing, misleading & sharing inaccurate information by saying things like "The PVT works! I just took the NCLEX did the PVT & got the good pop up!" We tell the facts how they are. If you want to see people who have been charged by using the PVT, there's a search bar. I used it last night & got a lot of results. If you don't want to do the work, that's on you.

By the way, I have never said I was an expert on the PVT. Ever.

People like to beat a dead horse. Poor horse.

Please show me where I have ever posted anything along the lines of "The PVT works! I just took the NCLEX and the PVT & got the good pop up!" And more mention of the ambiguous "facts" you keep referring to.

At this point it is obvious to me you are all no longer thinking objectively and having any type of meaningful discussion over it is a lost cause.

The facts are the PVT is not 100% accurate (unlike the quick results). The fact is the PVT is just an accidental trick, hence Pearson Vue TRICK. The fact is PVT does take your money. People ARE charged $200. Again, there is a search function if you feel like using it. Fact, it is cheaper to wait the 2 days & spend $8 than $200. Those are facts.

It's the royal 'you' like the royal 'we'. I am thinking objectively. When people are faced with those facts, it is up to them what they want to do with it.

I think it goes without saying that a popularized glitch referred to as a "trick" on a website is in no way to be considered an "official result." Was there ever any question about that? What bothers me is that you all badger anyone who posts on here about the PVT and insinuate they are stupid.

Just like you're doing? Well when an educated professional doesn't know how to use the search function on a website, posts the same question day in & day out, it makes you wonder. A lot of people use that "glitch" as official results. We are nurses & we are suppose to educate people. If you don't like it, don't read the posts & don't go into the NCLEX forum. Simple.
