does the PVT still work?

Published

hi i just took the nclex exam and about half of my questions were SATA. My computer shut off at 75 and i am so nervous. I got out of the testing center crying. I can not wait 48 business hours for the unofficial result. Does anyone know if the PVT still work?

I was just in your shoes 2 days ago. But I got through the 48 hours and got my Quick Results this morning, and I passed (77 questions)

The thing about PVT is even if you do it, there's no way of knowing with 100% accuracy that it's right. Especially if you use bogus credit card info to do it. If you put in real CC info, you run the risk of getting charged $200. It's just not worth it. Yes, the waiting is EXCRUCIATING when you *really* want to know. But, it will be over before you know it.

I put my mind at ease by cleaning the house, doing laundry, etc. just to pass the time. So now my house is spotless, too...LOL :D

Since you finished in 75 questions, you more than likely passed. Were you a good student in nursing school? Did you prep well? You should be just fine

The trick worked for me. They changed it so you must submit a payment, but if you passed it will not charge you and it will give you the good message. If you fail, it will charge you. I had an old card with 0 balance otherwise I wouldn't have risked it. My school also was able to find out 24hrs later. Also my name appeared on the BON site less than 48hrs later so I didn't need to pay for early results anyway. Everyone thinks they failed. You probably did great!

LOL...I used to have a "Dr. Freud's Magic 8-Ball" that I got from Archie McPhee. All of the answers were Freudian.

What does results on hold really mean? Also have you all heard of anyone passing NCLEX RN with 75 questions BUT with only 10-12 select all that apply. :/ mehhh

The amount of SATA you have doesn't determine passing level. In fact, some SATA questions may not even be passing level. So you can have 40 and fail (or pass), or you can have 5 and pass (or fail)!

Thank u, I got a good pop up yesterday and today. I'll know for sure tomorrow.

I had mostly SATA and it cut off at 75. I passed. I think the SATA are higher order thinking. Try to relax. I almost threw up when I finished and I thought I failed to.

You can wait 48 hours for official results (yes they are official results) v.s. doing the PVT (the PVT are unofficial results) & getting the bad pop up & thinking your failed or getting the good pop then finding out you failed. Or shelling out $200 for trying to do the PVT. You can wait the 2 days & pay the $8 for the official quick results. Find something to do to take your mind off of the wait. Good luck!

They are accurate but Pearson refers to them as "Unofficial" results.

They are "unofficial" because only your state BON's site is official. Pass from Pearson means you've passed NCLEX, 100%

I had 9 SATA and 2 EKG questions and I passed in 114 questions. I honestly think that stuff means nothing.

They are not "official" results, per Pearson's website. They are specifically "unofficial."

I said nothing about the PVT.

If you get your quick results & pass, you pass. Pearson may call them "unofficial" but if you passed, you passed & if you failed, you failed. You can't get any more official than that (next to your license on the BON).

This whole post is about the PVT. And just because the PVT worked for you (great!) doesn't mean it always works. The quick results do, are 100% accurate & official.

Lab22, did you pass??
