does the PVT still work?

hi i just took the nclex exam and about half of my questions were SATA. My computer shut off at 75 and i am so nervous. I got out of the testing center crying. I can not wait 48 business hours for the unofficial result. Does anyone know if the PVT still work?

Anyone heard of a persone getting a good pop up and failing? I really felt like I did bad on this exam but I got the good pop. I don't want to be excited/happy for nothing though!

Yes. Many people have posted getting the good pop up & failing or getting the bad pop up & passing.

Dozens of threads and hundreds of posts address this....so yes, we've heard of it happening, and as recently as today...yesterday.....the day before.

You might have passed. You might have failed. Can't know from the PVT.

Yes, my sister did. She all got excited and then found out she failed. Fortunately, for me the PVT trick worked and has proven itself in my LPN and RN exams. So yeah, I know it works. I think there is a certainty that in most cases (the 99% majority) that the trick works, unless you are among the 1% that this happens to.

The PVT does work but you have to wait for the 2nd scoring to be certain of your results. The problem is that they don't tell you when that 2nd scoring takes place. It generally seems to take place within 24 hours of when you take the exam, but it can take as long as 48 hours. The scoring is done both on and off site. The on-site scoring is done to determine when your exam should shut off. That will set a pass/fail flag, but the definitive scoring is done later and is the one that actually determines pass/fail and will be the result that is transmitted to your nursing board for licensure.

If you live in a state that participates in QR, then I usually highly recommend waiting for those results to become available and just pay the $8 for it, while keeping an eye on your state's board licensing web page as they seem to often post your results there, sometimes around 24 hours after the exam. My own license popped up about 35 hours after I took the exam...

TOOK MY EXAM THIS MORNING AT 8AM I HAD BOUT 7 SATA 2 MATH 1 EKG AND MOSTLY DELEGATION/PRIORITY QUESTIONS IT SHUT OFF AT 75.........I FEEL OVERWHELMED MY THOUGHTS ARE CONFLICTING. IM WAITING THE 48 HOURS TO FIND OUT BY THE WAY I TOOK MY EXAM FOR CONNECTICUT....... ANY WORDS OF WISDOM TO SHARE MY ANXIETY IS THROUGH THE ROOF (DON'T DRINK NOR SMOKE) I CANNOT RELAX:sour:

Go do something to take your mind off of the NCLEX. You made it through the tough parts (school & NCLEX). If you are a U.S. educated nurse & got 75 question the likelihood is high that you passed. But don't stress too much over the NCLEX & don't try the PVT. You can wait two more days. :)

You can do it! Go do something you haven't done in awhile. Go treat yourself. You deserve it & let us know the outcome in two days! :)

The trick worked for me. They changed it so you must submit a payment, but if you passed it will not charge you and it will give you the good message. If you fail, it will charge you. I had an old card with 0 balance otherwise I wouldn't have risked it. My school also was able to find out 24hrs later. Also my name appeared on the BON site less than 48hrs later so I didn't need to pay for early results anyway. Everyone thinks they failed. You probably did great!

A word of caution for those reading this message: passing the test does not mean that you will not be charged for a new/duplicate registration (as this is what you are attempting to do with the PVT). Most of the time, people who pass are not charged, but SOME OF THE TIME, they ARE charged.

If you are using an invalid card and therefore not risking any money in this game, please do not consider a message that your card is invalid, "contact your bank", etc to mean that you DID fail. Maybe you did...and the charge attempt was made because you needed a new registration. But maybe you did NOT fail....and the charge attempt was made because you clicked through two screens warning you that should you create a duplicate registration and ultimately not need it, there would be no refunds.

Word to the wise.
