PVT question

Published

I took the nclex on 6/2 and still haven't receive my result, so I gave in and tried the pvt. I got the "good" pop up after trying to reregister (yes, I hit submit after inputting my cc info). Is this a good indication I passed? Thank you

Got the bad pop up & passed. There are many more like him/her. But of course there will be more people who post 'the PVT works!' Plus the website you posted has been up since the PVT was very accurate. But now it isn't.

Two more people who were charged $200. The PVT is far from accurate or a way to get your results. If people want their results & their state participates then they should pay the $8 & get the quick results.

I have read a few times about people getting the bad popup and passing. However, I have not heard of anyone getting the good popup and failing. PV changed their site recently. You have to enter valid cc information and press submit. People used to be able to try to re-register after seeing "delivery successful." I have seen people come on the boards after this change stating that they got to the cc page and how they thought they failed and ended up passing. That is because they did not do it correctly. Also people not waiting at least 24 hours have ended up passing after getting their money taken from them because they did the trick before the second grading took place. All I did was come on the OP's thread to share MY experience and many of my friend's experiences with getting the good popup, not to argue about the PVT.

If you don't see how this is a big deal, I'm not sure how else to explain it. Not everyone has $200 to risk on this. We used to be lucky and not have to put money on the line to try the trick, so it really didn't matter. But now, you have to click submit and you won't get your money back. Even if there has never, ever been a false pass, a false fail is a really big deal for those who went broke just to get through school.

Now, in a totally unrelated subject, you need to change your profile picture if that is actually you. You don't know what kind of loonies lurk the boards, and I'm fairly certain TOS requires non selfies as avatars.

Sometimes stress gets the best of us and myself and friends tried it (knowing we could risk losing $200). I agree, a false fail would be awful. If I had to do the PVT again I wouldn't, I would just wait for the quick results as planned. I did it when I was stressed to find some sort of "hope" I guess. That is why I wanted to tell the OP that I have never seen someone get the good popup and fail, if it has happened I am sorry. And yes that is me, you have a point. I'll change my picture. Thanks!

I can appreciate what you're saying. The nay-Sayers of the PVT nay-say because those who shout of its success encourage others to try it. Unfortunately we can't save people from themselves, but we can help discourage them. Saying it has never been wrong makes people feel confident when they should really think twice. $200 is an electric bill paid, gas for a month, a whole family's cell phone bill, groceries, a quarterly water bill.... A big deal. That's why we get passionate.

Okay, I have never said the PVT was 100% accurate. I would never accept a job offer based on getting the "good popup," either. I was just stating my experience (and many other people's experiences with the good popup). I want the best for the OP and my intention is certainly not to give false hope. I would never say "yeah go apply for jobs because you're officially a nurse because of the popup." I know the popup doesn't mean you're licensed. You have to wait for your BON to post the license. I have seen people pay the $200, to pass. I just haven't seen someone get the so called good popup to fail. I would never use the good popup as an indicator to get a job, no way. I waited until my license was posted. But to many the good popup has been a stress reducer. Honestly, I don't know why we're making a big deal about the PVT. It has worked for many people, when done the correct way (waiting at least 24 hours).

This wasn't about you. I never claimed you DID say it was 100% accurate. Again...not about you, or even anything you said.

My point was to answer your question asking for a link to the posts/threads that stated the error had occurred. I answered that. The rest had nothing to do with you, but rather someone else's experience.

I know this is a stressful time, but that is entirely the point of posting what we have learned, OVER time. That for every person who says "I've never heard of" or "I've never read" there most certainly IS someone who has heard of....and who has read.

I gave you the story. Believe...or not. That's really all there is to it :)

ixchel put it better than me, lol....there you go!
