PSYCHOLOGY and SOCIOLOGY

Published

New to the board and this Summer semester will be my first - Thinking of doing my Psychology and Sociology and wanted some input on what you guys think about doing them the same semester? Too much or Easy enough?? I'm great w/ reading -actually love to read!! Any suggestions would be great!

They are both easy classes, at least for me they were. I think you will be fine, its a lot of reading.

I am currently taking both classes, online versions. I think the content is pretty easy, and they actually overlap in some areas. I am glad I am taking them at the same time. You said you have good reading skills, so reading this type of material and comprehending it should be a piece of cake for you. Good luck!

I don't think it will be too much. It will be a lot of reading but as long as your ok with that you' should be fine. I learned right away in Psychology to make flash cards to remember all the the important things. It made it a lot easier to study for exams. Good Luck!

You shouldn't have a problem taking those two together. Like others have said there will be a lot of reading comp. If you feel okay with your reading and memory then you are set!

Thanks so much! I just found this board yesterday and it seems to be a good support group!

Both are easy classes, but don't take one more course than what you have to.

No, I don't think that would be too much at all. I have a minor in Psych, and I took lots of psych/soc classes at the same time with no difficulty at all.

Do you need both though? Many nursing programs only require a certain number of social sciences, with psych or soc qualifying. I am assuming you have already checked to make sure, but just wanted to point that out.

Good luck!

I'm am taking both this Spring as well. I don't think it will be hard. These are my last two classes before the nursing program.

I took the CLEP test for Psychology and I took Sociology online. Sociology was a lot of reading but nothing that you won't be able to handle. Good Luck to you!

I have a BS in sociology and was just a class shy of a psych minor, I think. Trust me, as long as you can handle a fair amount of reading and write a few papers you will be fine. Neither should demand too much of your time, and I always found both subjects engaging and easy to learn.

You should be fine. I took both as intersession classes - I think it was about 2 1/2 weeks. So 6 or 8 weeks during summer should be a peice of cake!
