Does this happen to anyone else? Everytime I go to the movies I start to itch. I always forget that this happens to me. But once I've been in the seat for a minute or two my hair and face get really itchy. It doesn't matter which theater I go to, or where it is in the country, it always happens.
The theater I went to today was a new one, and I think this was the worst reaction ever, actually had a break out of tiny little bumps all over my face.
I googled it and saw one other person asked about it on yahoo? Anyone know why this happens?

You need to talk to a doctor. Environmental probably, but you need to at least call your doc office, talk to a nurse there and ask when you can be seen..

nptobee,
YES!..YES! ..I know what you are talking about. We have a small movie theater in our town that is old and not particularly clean. My head ALWAYS begins to itch after being there for 10 or 15 minutes. It has never failed. When I first starting going to this theater, I would not remember about the itching, but would soon be reminded. Last week my family went to a different movie theater in a neighboring town and the same exact thing happened. This theater was even dirtier than the one in my home town....I mean to tell you, these were the worst looking seats that I have ever sat on in a movie theater. In this case, both the movie theaters are owned by the same company. I have no known allergies or any other sensitivities. It is doubtful that it would be any type of cleaning product, because it really looked like these seats had never been cleaned! I was thinking something like mites or something else that lives in the seats and preys on the unsuspecting. I have never experienced a rash, just the itching. I think I'll stick with the movie rental place from now on. :barf01:

Well you know that there are problems with bed-bugs in hotels and motels all over the country now, so maybe the theaters have bed-bugs too.
Think I wil stick with watching pay-per-view or rent movies. Gives me the creeps when I think what is out there now days.
Oh , I remember watching the View one day several years ago, and they did a show on the dirtiest places, guess what movie theaters!! Some of the places they went too, had feces on the seats:scrying: can't get much worse than that!

I needed that laugh.
But on a serious note..yes theaters are filthy. Those seats should be made of plastic or something you can just spray and wipe down. You know the cloth seats have never been cleaned...gross. Just thinking about all the dried sweat, oils, dirt, grime, and other body junk fermenting on the seats over years makes me itchy!

Oh my goodness YES!
ACE hardware (no financial interest) has an aerosol dust mite killer(made of some "-rethrin" not pyrethrin though., with no fragrance. You can even spray it on yourself. You might try taking some in your pocket and quietly spritzing your seat and the 2 adjoining. Works for me.
I know. Cute for a quick laugh, but on the serious side, I, too,
thought about all the germs that could be lurking on those seats.
