Hi all,

Starting this thread before the Jan '22 cohort application opens up today (hopefully soon!) I have all the required documents ready to submit, patiently refreshing and hoping the link to apply pops up soon. Let's all connect and keep each other updated on our application process. Good luck to everyone! :)

Yep. Up North is where the bounty is but SoCal is Socal. I can't stop cringing at this $44hr w/diff for OC. That's rough especially for those of us that took out 100k loans. Geezus. I've done the math 6 ways to Sunday and my calculator just keeps saying 404 Error. LOL

Maybe that’s why I didn’t get an offer because they know I’m from NorCal so as soon as I saw the rate I would’ve said no ?

Does anyone know whether Providence pays RN Residents differently by speciality/unit? For example, more for ICU or ED position than say Med-Surg?

Thanks!

For Med-Surg was offered high 40s. On a side note, anyone land in med surg? I have yet to see anyone say so.

This is from St Joe

I think the pay varies depending on the units. Some units pay base pay for the first 8 hours and then time & 1/2 for the last 4 hours.

All hospitals pay OT when you work more than 8 hours. It’s the law

That’s not true, some contracts are straight pay for 12 hours.

What hospitals and what states ?

usually you only get base pay for 12 hours if you are a salary employee.

Well that’s unfortunate, sorry to hear that. If you look it up it says it’s law in California to pay OT for over 8 hours worked so ??‍♀️ Don’t know what to tell you, other than the info that can be found.
