  1. Maybe a stupid question..

A male co worker was suspended possibly fired (we do not have all of the details) over sexual harassment. This was after complaints of many female co workers. Their complaints were he touched their arms or backs (above the waist) or offered massages....
  2. Maybe a stupid question..

A few of the other guys on our unit do walk up and massage your back not a full massage but a quick shoulder rub and he did the same.
  3. Maybe a stupid question..

I should add he has also touched my back and given me a massage and I didn't feel at all threatened and they never asked the girls from the shift he actually works on if he made them feel uncomfortable.

  5. Marquette CRNA 2017

Hi! Just wondering if you could share what your interview experience was like. I hope to apply for fall 2019, but with it being such a new program, I am finding no info on their interview process!
  6. Charting questions

I recently transferred from the floor to an ICU. I am by no means a seasoned nurse, but I have some experience and with this particular patient population. I will admit I am struggling with the orientation period. Not that I don't feel like I don't n...
  7. D50 amps

Earlier this week we had a nurse who is new to our unit (not to nursing) give a pt 3 amps of d50. He started out with a blood glucose of 69 she gave the juice, it dropped. By the time the time the third amp was able to be given the pats blood sugar w...
  8. D50 amps

The patient had eaten, but not enough to be considered a full meal so per hospital policy the pt was given the coverage dose of regular insulin and not coverage plus base dose. The insulin was given on the shift before us and the pt had the same dose...
  9. D50 amps

The blood sugars were checked per policy (15 min after each intervention) but each time it had to wait for the dr to call back before another amp could be given.
  10. D50 amps

I am unsure what our policy states as far as going beyond 1 amp. I didn't have time to look and it was not my patient. I have never needed to go beyond 1 amp. What was documented in the MAR was one unit of regular insulin and 12 units of lantus. I to...
  11. I know there are tons of posts on this, but they're older. I have the ATI comprehensive predictor in a few weeks. It is worth half of our grade and we must get a 71.3% which translates to a 94% chance NCLEX pass rate. I have leveled every ATI 2 or ab...
  12. ATI comprehensive RN predictor

Thank you all for your help! ATI was today. I went in pretty nervous as life never goes as planned so my study time was probably 98% less than where it should've been. However, I ended up scoring an 82.7 which translates to a 99% predicted NCLEX pass...
  13. ATI comprehensive RN predictor

Thank you!! So the comp predictor the practice tests that are available on ATI or the practice proctored ones? I do the app nonstop when I do not have access to anything else. Congrats on your 80! ATI does this new thing now where you have to login a...
  14. ATI comprehensive RN predictor

What did you title it?! I didn't find it! I agree it is a high score and to have graduation riding on that one test :/ I have been doing all the tests, however it seems like it is no help when you get to the real ATI for example Pharm ATI practice se...
  15. ATI comprehensive RN predictor

No, no make it about you! That's fine! It makes me feel better to hear positive outcomes!!
  16. CRNA vs AA

I will be entering my last semester of my ADN program in fall. My ultimate goal was/is to become a CRNA. However, there is only one program in my state located about 5 hours from me. I have one child who I would love not to uproot, but I also don't w...
  17. CRNA vs AA

One last question that I am sure is over asked. Since I need 2 years ICU experience and then can apply from there, any advice on making my application competitive? Something I can work on in this time frame maybe a little more depending on when I act...
  18. CRNA vs AA

Thank you guys! After all of this, it seems ridiculous to go the AA route if CRNA is an option. I appreciate your help!
  19. CRNA vs AA

My other option is more expensive schools out of state (2 hours away). I'm sure these programs are much more competitive. Would it be feasible to commute via train? This would cut out wear and tear on a vehicle as well as adding study time, but addin...
  20. Studying pharm

I need help! I am not getting pharm... I have never had to study before and I really don't know how.. I am getting C's on my tests or failing them. I spent at least 24 hours doing what I thought was studying.. Flash cards, listening to lectures while...
  21. Hi All! I just submitted my application for the 2015 Nurse Corps Scholarship program. Wondering from those with experience with this program, how strong do you feel your essays were? I wrote mine on my second 20 hour work day in a row, I went back an...
