  1. We are all human, and the board will understand that. It’s happen to me a few times, especially at the beginning. I have to submit an explanation as to why I missed check in and also steps that I’ve taking to prevent it. If it becomes a frequent thing, it will be a problem. Good luck!
  2. Congratulations! Sobriety has brought so many wonderful things to my life and also good things to those around me. Keep it up and be proud.
  3. Congratulations!!!! What a great accomplishment! I wish you all the best in your sobriety!
  4. I was placed under monitoring because of a DUI 5 urs prior to even going to nursing school. My biggest issue with this program was being forced into AA into because I don’t think this program is for everyone. However, I soon realized it was truly made for me and has kept me sober. I never considered myself as having a drinking problem until I became stone cold sober. It really has been a blessing for me. But I do not think people should be forced to do meetings. It’s unfair to the person and to the members. It should be a choice.
  5. I had a problem with dilutes because of the amount of water I drink and I love my coffee. I use to try and go first thing in the morning but I would literately be miserable. Try only emptying half your bladder first thing in the morning, that should give you a couple hours. I do that and still enjoy a small coffe first thing in the morning and I’ve been good.
  6. That awesome!!! Good for you. Monitoring not so bad, the time will fly! best of luck to you!
  7. Talk to your case manager. When I was pregnant I took some time off from work to be home with my little. The board said I would not get time off my computer tract if I wasn’t working, but they did allow me to put my license on inactive status for a month. Depends on what you want to do.
  8. I always enjoy reading your post! Well said. Your story is very familiar. I stood before the board and tried to convince them I didn’t have a drinking problem, only a drug problem. Yep! That was me. Many years later I am thankful for this program. Didn’t just force sobriety but a complete different way of living.
  9. Congratulations, your done!!!!
  10. I would be very cautious in exposing yourself to anyform of CBDs. We actually did an experiment at work with a client because she was worried about her husband using CBd cream for his pain and testing positive if he ever had a random at work. She used the cream and sure enough tested positive for thc despite it being thc free. Hope that helps you figure things out.
  11. I have never heard of such a thing. That is an absolute voluation but so is a lot of things these programs do. I guess you just have to go with it.
  12. Sometimes it just takes awhile.
  13. I was in a monitoring with Affinity and test panel A was just there standard panel, ETOH, not etg or perhaps. I had dilutes so they starting testing with Panel H, and this includes etg. Hope this helps.
  14. Pretty inspiring, 28 yrs. is awesome! It gives me hope, hope my future and hope for all my fellow nurses that struggle.
  15. Just be a friend!!!!
  16. If I miss a check in I am required to submit a written explanation and also explain what steps I am taking to ensure it doesn't happen again.
  17. AA and NA meetings aren't for everyone. I absolutely hated the idea at first but once I found my place and my voice I see can understand the help the unity can provide. I attend a very non traditional meeting forum. People even bring there kids and there pets. Don't get me wrong, I have been to AA meeting that you weren't even allowed to speak of using drugs or would be asked to leave and attend NA. There are a lot of hardcore members out there. .......My point is if you don't like the meeting your at try and find a different group you can even start your own. I would highly suggest not forging anything. Way to stressful!!!!!
  18. It may be to dilute to test ? That seems to be what Affinity reports for a dilute specimen.
  19. I think it is a great idea and would love to be a part of it! I'll message you.
  20. I had been sober for 7 years when I went before the board to obtain my RN. They frowned at the fact I never attended a rehab and honestly they came across like that was the only therapy that could possibly help someone. I think you need to be prepared to prove your sobriety and explain to them why you left rehab. Hang in there !
  21. I hope this is not to controversial, but I am curious to know how the legalization of Marijauana is going to affect these probationary programs? I am in the state of Nevada and am so upset about the legalization. I'm so confused how this could of happened, considering what is going on in Denver. It won't affect my program but I was just curious how the boards would consider this. Crazy!
  22. This is so awesome for you and gives me hope that I can get there as well! Congratulations to you !!!
  23. Thanks for sharing. So much time is spent on hating the BON and hating the programs , but every know and again they get it right. I complain all the time about all the call ins, the drug screens and the paperwork but bottom line is my life is in a much better place with living in the parameters of my program. I don't drink and don't do drugs. Life is good!
  24. You received great advice from meriwhen, she is pretty much spot on. hopefully they don't report this and you can just move on.
