  1. Bags or totes for work

Just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions or recommendations for cute bags for work? I see the ones they have at the uniform stores and those are more for home care nursing where you can store everything in. The totes I usually find are all pr...

At my hospital we are trying to minimize line sepsis so we implement stricter practices when accessing patients picc lines. We use the signs to be more conscientious, especially working nights or if hanging meds if helping others out.
  4. Nurses that graduated from Wayne County Community College

I work at children's and I have never seen nor heard of this memo. I do know that for our new grad program, you must obtain your BSN within 2 years if you do not have it already. So maybe that is true for 2015.

  16. Canadian nurses working in the US- liability insurance?

I live very close to the border so I went to school in the states. I ended up getting a job on the unit I had externed on during school. As for the whole kijiji thing, I would never trust a job offer on there. It's a lot you have to do being a canadi...

  21. As far as I know, any Canadian citizen wanting to work in the US needs to get their Visa Screen. I'm pretty sure it's a requirement in order to get a TN visa. You can apply for it on the CGFNS website. It does require you to request transcripts, lice...

I agree with the previous post, take the peds er position! It is hard to come by a peds job especially in the er and especially as a new grad! You will have a great experience! Good luck!
  23. Visa Screen Certificate / CGFNS

You have to send the cgfsn paperwork to your school. They fill it out and send it along with your official transcripts to cgfsn. From what I understand that's the only way to do it.
