Canadian nurses working in the US- liability insurance?

Hi,

I am talking to a recruiter who will help me to get a job in the states. I currently live in canada and waiting for all the info this recruiter will provide me and I certainly can ask her about insurance/liability coverage.

Would you mind saring---- how did you get a job in states? Is it a contract job? where you in canada before and somebody interviewed you on phone from states? I have replied to a posting t kijiji site R/T ''required canadian nurses to work in states ASAP''. I am excited and scared at the same time.....just want to make sure that this is not a fraud thing.

I live in Canada and will be working in the US. I tried getting liability coverage through NSO & they told me I have to reside in the US in order to be covered. Any nurses living in Canada who work in the states have liability coverage? If so, with who? Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

Anybody who thinks they can find a good job on Kijiji is in for a rude awakening. And anybody who advertises for employees on Kijiji has reasons why they aren't hiring through the usual channels. I'd be VERY afraid!

I live very close to the border so I went to school in the states. I ended up getting a job on the unit I had externed on during school.

As for the whole kijiji thing, I would never trust a job offer on there. It's a lot you have to do being a canadian citizen & working in the states, as far as paperwork goes including verification of education which is a lengthy process- and that's with having gone to school in the states. In my opinion I wouldn't pursue that job, there will be something else out there for you. Good luck!
