President Biden thread

Published

Wow.  No one has started such a thread yet?

After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days,  apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.

Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week,  by the end of April.

Interesting that they would have that Metadata then, isn't it?

I stand corrected. The "whistleblowers" searched for the data, then turned it over to W&M committee because...? And then the committee released the information.

From the Fox article:

Quote

"Vice President Biden appears to have treated Air Force Two like a corporate jet, traveling to Ukraine and Mexico to advance Hunter Biden's business interests," Ways & Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith said. "Evidence from today's documents show right around the time of international trips like those to Ukraine, Joe Biden was emailing his son and his son's business partner from private email accounts using aliases while vice president."

So the committee obtained this evidence/data, examined it and released it. But they're not investigating.

They are, you are correct.  I didn't pay attention to the fact it was the Ways and Means and not the Oversight Committee.

Maybe this informs their work on taxes and federal revenue.

Serious question: why is Ways and Means investigating emails from when Biden was Vice President? Don't they have some looming budget deadlines?

House Republicans apparently feel that investigating a private citizen is more important.

Hunter Biden's recent Pod cast interview with popstar Moby (who met during addiction treatment) prior to latest indictment has the answer:

Quote

"They decided that the one way in which they would be able to certainly just undermine my dad's confidence and ability to continue to campaign and move forward – particularly after the death of my brother – [was] to think that he could lose his son that he just had regained from an almost-death, through addiction,” he said.

They're trying to kill me, knowing it would be a pain greater than my father could be able to handle, and so therefore destroying a presidency in that way.

This immense pressure is understandable why the President is seen so often with his son supporting him IMHO.

The lack of either a moral or an ethical compass is an affliction quickly consuming most of conservative politics. Once they learned that they could hold congressional hearings solely for the purpose of damaging the public image of a political opponent without any real ramifications, they stopped trying to even pretend that the exercises had anything to do with governance or actual oversight. The Bengazi hearings were a training ground.

Congress has been pretty ineffective since Republicans took control of the House.

I thought the article was written in a confusing manner. Hard to tell if that was intentional or just poor journalism.

Well, it's Fox News, so it's a given that it's poor journalism.  It's also congressional Republicans trying to find ways to examine and discuss the email communications of a sitting president after their IRS "whistleblowers" conduct digital searches looking for the POTUS' aliases in a private citizen's Metadata.  The Ways and Means committee would be the committee that deals with IRS, tax law and oversight.  That's why they got involved in the Hunter Biden investigations.  It would have been weird for Comer's committee to get that volunteered IRS data.

It's intentional.  The purpose of the article isn't to provide insight, rather its to forward the flimsy and fragile claims of Trump's congressional team to damage Biden's public image.  They can't have Trump voters thinking that Trump is the only corrupt law breaker running for the presidency.

Some impressive new lows for Joe.

"Among all adults, Biden's approval rating is just 33% in this poll, worse than Trump's low as president (36%) and the lowest since George W. Bush from 2006-2008. Fifty-eight percent disapprove of Biden's work.

Among groups, just 31% of women now approve of Biden's work in office, a new low (as do 34% of men). He won 57% of women in 2020.

He's at 28% approval among independents, a customary swing voter group; a low of 32% among moderates; and a low of 41% among college graduates, 10 points off his career average in that group.

Further, Biden's approval rating is 21 points below average among Black people and 15 points below average among Hispanic people, compared with 6 points among white people; more Black people, in particular, offer no opinion."

Now tell me what percentage of those same voters get their news from Fox News.

Hard to say.  Do you have reason to believe the poll isn't accurate?  Did Fox acquire more viewers and become more effective at their messaging since Joe took office?
