Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.
QuotePresident Biden appeared to share a lighthearted, R-rated exchange while caught on a hot mic as he met with Florida officials and residents affected by Hurricane Ian.
“No one f—- with a Biden,” the president appeared to say with a laugh as he had a seemingly friendly conversation with Fort Myers Beach Mayor Ray Murphy on Wednesday.

President caught on hot mic: ‘No one f—- with a Biden’
Apparently he couldn't follow his own press secretary's advice to Mr. DeSantis and Mr. Scott.
Quote[...]
“There will be plenty of time, plenty of time, to discuss differences between the president and the governor — but now is not the time,” Jean-Pierre told reporters at a White House briefing. “When it comes to delivering and making sure that the people of Florida have what they need, especially after Hurricane Ian, we are one. We are working as one.”

DeSantis' statement maybe over the top. But, not by much.
First off, media really goes crazy over weather these days. Bad weather is ratings and clicks. In my parts, if a simple storm is coming and youre watching a local station, you'd think the blizzard of the century is coming. So, ftom a business standpoint, the media doesn't mind destruction and tragedia.
Add to that, the governor who is a likely Republican presidential candidate that reminds the media cabal of Trump. No doubt they want him to fail. The more destruction and tragedy there was, the easier it would be to create that narrative.
Remember "never let a crisis go to waste"?
Fair enough I mention Hunter as a catch all for the situation so perhaps I'll switch to "the Bidens".
I definitely agree the media sensationalizes things. But they did not invent the idea that the storm was headed for Tampa. The county, not the media ordered mandatory evacuations and DeSantis said "get out now" days ahead of the storm. That the media wanted it to hit Tampa for maximum destruction to advance their political agenda, well I call B.S. on that. I disagree with your statement "The more destruction and tragedy there was, the easier it would be to create that narrative. " especially given the massive destruction there was away from Tampa and there is no narrative to prove your point that the media is taking advantage of the tragedy in their coverage.
Yes, the media is scrutinizing him and Florida closely. Gaffes and screw ups make for good news. Any failures of his would be widely covered. G.W. Bush paid a price for this when he flew over New Orleans and didn't visit in person.
I think the media is covering him fairly and giving him and Biden both props for setting politics aside for Floridians. I really haven't read much about him in the media that makes him look bad or advances any political agenda of the media. Even CNN's coverage of him touring Sanibel and making a speech was covered fairly.
Fox New's headline is about Biden "President Biden caught on hot mic in Florida: 'No one f---- with a Biden'. So yeah media does have an agenda sometimes. But while this was their headline and first paragraph they did go on to covered the meeting and tour of Biden and DeSantis.
Social media on the other hand is making horrible fun of him in his white rubber boots. I've told my friends and followers on FB that are reposting these memes that they aren't funny.

I don't know the context of Biden's (and the Mayor's) profanity laden statements but how does it show that he's not following his advice to keep things non-partisan? Sounds to me like they might have been sharing a light hearted joke or moment.

OK, you've made a great point. There really hasn't been much negative coverage of regarding the hurricane. I'll reconsider my opinion. That is, after I search for images of the white boots and memes.

I don't know where you live, but when I moved from New England to Tennessee, I was shocked and laughed hysterically to hear the Nashville weatherman, during a snow FLURRY (to a NE'er such as myself) was waving his arms around and saying "terrible storm, just terrible!" But Nashville doesn't have the equipment for handling even mediocre snow 'events', so a lot of it is relative.

You've totally missed my point.
And, simple storms still do occur. They are often made out to be the coming of something paralyzing and destructive.
I don't need a third of my TV screen taken up by grahics and warnings while im watching a game, and then local news reporters from different areas of town reporting on how the city may shut down, only because I'll be waking up to a few inches of snow. In Denver, Colorado.
I admit there are a LOT of times your 'point' eludes me. I do agree that all that crap they plaster a TV screen with is un-necessary, and it would be the TV station and/or cable that are at fault for that. Sometimes when a place gets new technology they tend to go a little bat-sheet crazy with it.
I dunno, most of the time I am at a loss when I read your posts. We live in different worlds, in our heads.

As God is my witness I didn't post any memes on my social media and criticized friends that did. But I'm only human and snickered at some of them.

Perhaps it was just a poorly timed off the cuff remark. If he, as I suspect he will, admits as much I will give him the benefit of doubt and accept him at his word.

Getting a few inches of snow in Denver is only news when you should be getting many inches of snow. Do you think that the drought in your region of the country is related to climate change?
