President Biden thread

Published

Wow.  No one has started such a thread yet?

After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days,  apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.

Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week,  by the end of April.

Does Joe Biden Have Cancer? President's History With Melanoma Explained

Biden's physician acknowledged in a November 2021, report that the president had several "localized, non-melanoma skin cancers" removed before assuming the presidency.

You can guess if you prefer, but yes I believe that Biden, as old as he is, is an enormous improvement over the corrupt fellow who last held the presidency. Whether or not he's doing a "good job" will be hashed out by experts and historians for years, but Biden certainly has a better understanding of the role and responsibilities of the presidency than does Trump and Biden didn't try to overthrow an election result that he didn't like.

It looks like Biden has placed some well qualified, competent and well intended people in his administration, that's a nice change.  His daughter doesn't conduct business from a white house office, that's an improvement.

She’s too busy with emotional issues after showers with daddy.

I don't have to read the report. I I know he had skin cancer.

I'm perplexed by what he said today.  I woukd chalk it up to his cognitive decline.  But, I've been told by folks here that he is as sharp as ever.

So, are you saying he was referring to his skin cancer of the past?  I'll buy that.

But then, why did he blame it on oil refineries?  I'll admit, I'm not aware of a link between oil refineries and skin cancer. Maybe you can enlighten me?

We observed that proximity to an oil refinery was associated with a statistically significantly increased risk of incident cancer diagnosis across all cancer types..

Analysis shows alarming level of benzene at fence-line of facilities in Texas, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Indiana and US Virgin Islands

I live within 20 miles of 2 refineries that are also near Presidents DE home.  Thankfully Philadelphia Energy Solutions (formerly Sunoco plant) shut down ~ 2 yrs ago as 10 miles away from me.

Sorry.  I guess you didn't realize I meant SKIN cancer,  specifically.

Anyway,  you believe our "sun and shore loving, bicycle riding" President's skin cancer was caused by the oil refineries in Delaware?

She quoted the relevant portion for you and I bolded a bit for attention...

*all cancer types*

Typically *all* would include skin cancers as well.

I did go back and read the 2019 physical report you mentioned, and the 2021 report.

When the topic of his history of skin cancer is is mentioned,  both reports say that "it's well established President Biden did spend a great deal of time in the sun in his youth."

And, as a reminder, you yourself said he was "sun and shore loving."

Of course,  we all know that the biggest, by far, risk factor of skin cancer is exposure to the sun.

Now, you're telling me that when he states that the oil refineries are to blame for his cancer, you and others here believe that, no questions asked?

Out of control inflation and gas prices, dismal poll numbers, few accomplishments, lies and gaffes on a daily basis, most Democrats don't even want him to run again, and still some deny what is before there eyes and defend the indefensable.

Amazeballs.

I think he's confused and relates simular topics out of context. He probably meant to say that many people in Delaware have had cancer, from living in close proximity to oil refineries. That cancer has touched many people, including him. But it just didn't come out that way.

Maybe so.  However, when I've brought up his cognitive decline and confusion here in the past, others have maintained he is as sharp as ever and thzt there is no evidence if such.  So, that line of reasoning is off the table in this thread.

I didn't read anything that associated a "belief" to the member's comment that you referenced.

She told you that?? It must have been a private comment.

In the era of Trump, daily "lies" and verbal gaffes just puts candidates in similar standing to the twice impeached former president. Lies and gaffes certainly shouldn't disqualify a candidate in the eyes of Trump voters...

Today we will have a prime time review of what actual denial of reality and defense of the indefensible looks like in Trump's world.

I bet you could copy and share those comments that maintain that Biden is "as sharp as ever" if they were ever actually made. Or maybe you simply read incorrectly or extrapolated in error... that's certainly been apparent in other comments...other "conservative" members have been prone to simply misrepresent the words or meaning of others with whom they disagree.
