Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

Indeed. But do you think that the Democratic party is hijacked by extremists? Look at the legislation at the federal and state levels of both parties over the last two decades. What is the Democratic equivalent of The Tea Party?

I don't think there's an equivalent to the Tea Party. I also don't think the Democratic Party has been hijacked by extremists. But I agree with the idea that some settle for nothing rather than compromise.
Look at the block of six democrats lead by "The Squad" who voted against Biden's infrastructure bill for example.
I knew a few people that were extreme leftists that refused to vote because they refused to vote for Biden. Not many but I can think of three people right off the top of my head.
I didn't want Biden to win the nomination but voted for him. I would like more of the progressive agenda passed, but will support meeting in the middle somewhere, or a scaling down just to get something passed rather than scrap it all.

I agree.

The Squad
The Squad is a clique within the Democratic Party. The Squad's lack of power in the Democratic Party is in no way equivalent to the actual power of the anti-American, hateful, racist, selfish, crazy Tea Party of yesterday who are now the anti-American, hateful, selfish, crazy GQP/white nationalist Trump supporting politicians of today.

They refused to vote on the infrastructure deals unless they were passed together (along with 2 other Dems). IMHO, it was a failure on their part not to support either bill individually.

Fair enough, but they aren't controlling the agenda. The Democratic party is not controlled by left wing extremism at the federal or the state level. The same cannot be said of the Republican party.
"Wednesday's tough poll numbers are attributed largely to poor marks from independent voters, 57 percent of whom said they disapproved of Biden's job performance compared to 25 percent who approved."
In light of all the polling, no wonder Stacy Abrams had a "scheduling conflict", LOL, and couldn't attend Biden’s speech in her home state.
"A new Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday found 49 percent of U.S. adults said the president is doing more to sow divisions, compared to 42 percent who said he's doing more to unite the country."

Many of those people are Republicans. Really, what do you expect Republicans to say in such a poll? 92 of Republicans skewed the poll, but 50% of Independents say so as well.
Still, it might be interesting to see how many people distance themselves form him in the 2022 election. Obama was so unpopular at mid-terms people kept their distance. Trump was equally unpopular but people still embraced him.
I saw on the news today while in a patient's room that Biden's approval rating is a dismal 33%.
Off topic. Republicans and Fox News are doing as much as much as Biden and Democrats to keep the division there. Fox News reported heavily the news of the inflation rate being the worst in decades and the banner was "Biden goes after voting rights while inflation out of control". Instead of reporting on the inflation rate they had some off topic comments about him trying for a voting rights bill, as if the rest of his job goes on hold because of one issue. (CNN's banner was that inflation was the worst in 40 years and Biden made a statement).
Can't say I blame them because this is how they are going to get back what they lost.
