Hi everyone,
I need to complete my prerequisites for the LPN program I am planning to attend. The question I have is from experience is it better to take Human Anatomy and Human Physiology together or do them separate and take the Intro to Microbiology with one them instead.

I would take them together. Anatomy and physiology, that is. I didn't even have the option to take them separately.

ummm, pretty sure you have to take it together. Most classes are labeled "Anatomy & Physiology". It's one class, not two separate classes, unless this is a new thing I have never heard of!

These are two separate classes Human Anatomy (ZOOL 2100) and Human Physiology(ZOOL2200). I have the option to take them at the same time or different terms.
At the school I am attending Human Anatomy (ZOOL 2100) and Human Physiology (ZOOL2200) are two separate courses offered both in Fall semester or I can split them up. My other option was to do Integrated Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II but they are only offered in separate semesters.

Is there a reason why you chose to take them seperately? In my opinion, I would consider the option to do the integrated Human Anatomy and Physiology.. mainly because if you decide to continue on in your studies to become an RN, at least it would count in your favor. The Human Anatomy and Human Physiology classes seem like they are only beneficial for the LPN program.

Yes, take both Anatomy and Physiology together. This will save you a lot of stress of thinking you won't remember much from either class once the semester ends.
Good luck!

Take them together.

At my junior college, they are only offered as separate courses, and Anatomy is a prerequisite for Physiology, so I didn't have a choice. I took them one after another and didn't have a problem. Not sure if I would take both classes the same semester (for me both 5 unit classes with lab, not sure if yours are the same). Although I would easily consider A&P I and then A&P II. I took chemistry and two other courses the same semester as Anatomy and took Microbiology and two other courses along with Physiology, so 4 total each semester.
Best of luck to you!

Which ever way you decide to go. You will still finish what is necessary. Check out Diary of a nursing student on youtube.

I took as A&P I and II, and I can't imagine having taken anatomy and physiology separately. Physiology would be fine, but anatomy alone would be sooooo boring! I'd be like "now what do this DOOO!?"

In my school, I had the option of taking them separately. I think it's better that way honestly because I learn the basics: the human body, and then I move on and learn what they do. If I had to take a combined class, I would have hated it.
