Pre-Nursing students what has been

The hardest pre-req for you?!:D

so far I have not had a class that I would consider my worst. Right now I am taking A&P1 and am enjoying it, it is alot of studying tho'.

Specializes in Emergency, Pre-Op, PACU, OR.

Statistics was the most annoying, not all of it was hard but some chapters were pretty challenging, and I took the class online, which made it a bit harder. I had a great teacher though and managed to A the class!

Specializes in Critical Care, Clinical Documentation Specialist.

Hands down its Algebra for me. It's been 20 years since I took it in HS, and even then I wasn't strong in math. I am barely hanging on to an A and it could easily drop to a B.

Human Anatomy for sure, I still have to take Intro to Organic/Biochemistry and I'm sure that will be a hell of a class but Anatomy for right now. Micro is really easy for me but I think it's because of the Prof I have. I'm somewhere between the B+ and A- range for Anatomy right now but this class is no joke!

Physiology!! Interesting but tough.

Hands down....Chemistry.

Specializes in Geriatrics.

My hardest class was A&P II. I earned my lowest grade with this class. I found the most difficult part of A&P II was learning about the Endocrine System and Cellular Respiration (chemical process involved in each). Those two sections really hurt my grade. But oh well, I survived!

I was taking nursing Pre-reqs for nursing many years ago at the university before stuff started happening in the family and had to drop everything and go for the less demanding Medical Assisting degree. I remember Microbiology being the hardest for me. Chemistry was a close second but I attribute that to big university classes. 75-80% of the class dropped out.

The second part of Anatomy and Physiology was tough. We delved into all the different systems, and by far the hardest to get down completely were things like muscle contractions on the molecular level. However I enjoyed all the other prerequisites, my favorite being Microbiology... I think the lab part of Micro is one of the funnest classes you can take in college.

I agree micro lab is the best but I enjoy Anatomy lab as well, it's very interesting. Micro is crazy though, especially after you see your grown cultures from swabbing things like the desk, your throat, fingers, chairs, everything! Makes you wash your hands a little more =P

I would have to say math! I was having trouble trying to get through intermediate algebra this semester so I dropped it. I will take it again next semester ( maybe it's the teacher alot of people in the class were having a hard time keeping up) I love my A&P 2 class I am getting an "A" and honestly it's coming really easy for me! I wish math stuck with me like A&P does!!

At my CC we have to take Dosages and Calculations as a prereq. and its extremely challenging. There are LPN's and Pharmacy Techs that perform these operations on a daily basis and they're barely passing ...(the professor is like an urban legend)! Although I'm an A student ,I'm praying for a "C" so I never have to see this guy again.
