Is their anyone in your life that inspires you? Motivates you to continue up and down the road of being a Nurse? My motivation comes from my daughter. There are a lot of times where i feel that i want to just quit and go back to Accounting. There are times i'm working so hard, then come home so tired and have to study. She alway's tells me " never give up daddy, the only thing you can do is do your best" My daughter motivates me so much that i just have to continue, don't let no obstacles get in my way. She gives me that extra energy to continue and know that down the road, my goal of being a nurse, my second career that should of been my first career, my passion is at the end. I just wanted to share my story with you all because motivation, inspiration certainly does take you a long way. Motivation, inspiration can come from anyone or anything in your life. I would like to hear your stories. Good everyone, we can do this.

My motivation comes from so many different places.

God would be the number one provider. I know that without him nothing I do would be possible.

My boyfriend is amazing and helps me in so many different ways. He supports me and all of my endeavors and makes sure that I have what I need to reach my goals.

My mom because this was her dream first. She motivates me to finish what I started no matter how long it takes.

My aunt Judy she's always been in my corner and wants nothing more than to see us reach all of our goals.

And My great-grandma who wanted us to have the world and gave us all the tools to get it.

I wouldn't be where I was without these people and I do this not only for myself but for them as well

Two people. And I'll warn you, I'll probably get mushy.

First, my twin brother, Nick. He fought a rare form of colon cancer for the last year, and his suffering was eased last Thursday. Throughout that time, he neglected to tell us it was stage 4. He contined to bolster other people's spirits, encouraged others, despite the pain he was experiencing. Years ago, he helped found a non-profit organization that helps ensure access to computers for everyone- for $50 or 24 hours of volunteer service, which includes education about building and using computers, anyone can turn to them and walk away with access to technology.

Nick was an amazing human being, the outpouring of love people had for him is inspiring. He did a lot of really good things for a lot of people. The biggest, he donated his body for research. He didn't want anyone else to go through what he had. His form of colon cancer only accounts for two percent of all colon cancer cases. While I would give anything to be able to look at his face one last time, I am grateful for the giving spirit he had. I think we were meant to use our hands, hearts, minds, and whatever other means are available to us to help others. To increase happiness, ease pain, and perpetuate love. I'm working as hard as I can so that I can do nick's memory justice by being the very best nurse, mother, wife, friend, and family member I can be.

My husband- he has been supportive and loving from day one. I want him to be proud. I want him to see that his patience and enthusiasm are not for nothing.

Really, what we're doing, I really think it all comes down to love. At least for me it does.

Really sorry to hear that. Seem like he was a great guy that did so much to help so many people out.

Remember that you are already making him proud by you hard work and dedication, and commitment to your family. Hang in there, you are going to do just fine.

Myself and family, my family has always persuaded me to further education and never settle, I also am my own motivator because in the end you're the only that knows your limits.

My motivation come from my children. Especially my daughter. She is only 7 and has been through more than any little person ever should, yet she always has a smile on her face! She was born with a rare spinal disorder called syringomyelia, an immune deficiency called combined variable immunodeficiency, hypermobility syndrome, asthma, non-allergic rhinitis, almost blind in one eye, vitamin deficient and undiagnosed abdominal issues labeled "functional abdominal pain". Those are all current, she has also had anemia, tortocollis, and a few other minor things. She has been poked and prodded since the day she was born. She has been sick and in pain almost her entire life and yet still happy! I have meet some amazing nurse throughout our journey with her and I want to be just like them.

I also was a teen mom (19 with my son and 21 with my daughter) and their father was an abusive man who I was with for 9 years. I have started over in life and NOTHING will stop me. I want my kids to know that NO MATTER your circumstances you can do anything. Hard work pays off and don't ever give up.

My sister told me the other day that I am the type of person people look up to. I don't necessarily agree but I do hope one day to be that person.

When my daughter was born, she was in the NICU, and I was so impressed by the nurses. They were the first ones that actually made me consider nursing.

When my daughter was born, she was in the NICU, and I was so impressed by the nurses. They were the first ones that actually made me consider nursing.

Don't give up, you have come so far, why give up now. Your a strong women, going through an abusive relationship, dealing with your daughter. A great story, thank for sharing it. Hard work pays of, you are absolutely right about that. Your sister is right, many people would look up to you, especially women that are going through similar situation that you have been through. What motives me is my faith, my support from my man and my strong love for anything in health care sence I could remember! It comes easy to me for learning it compare to anything else, I have such a strong passion for medical. It's who I am! I never had a strong person in my life that encouraged me to look into medical I don't even know a nurse in my family it's just in my soul! I love surgery and even when it's performed on me! I love everything about medical. I can stand death, sickness and I believe we all can make such a difference to someone's life even tips its for a moment if we try. I want to be a neo natal nurse in the 2nd level even maybe the 3rd. I love infants and children so strongly and I want to be part of a change in there innocent lives. Knowing one day I will be an RN holding an infant that's trying to hold on by a thread and trying my best even if they do go to god Is what motivates me, that i will be doing medical and impacting lives and caring for people.

My son & my family inspire me. My boyfriend even let me quit my job to stay In school full time. Times get rough sometimes, but it's nice having his support. He's always pushing me & always telling me I WILL be a nurse. My son is my inspiration as well. Plus we all want a house with a nice yard & a dog...so I need this good job lol.
