For all of us who are sweating bullets waiting on acceptance/rejection letters...

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I just turned in three of my four applications :uhoh3:, and I'm already sweating bullets! Just thought I would start a support thread for those of us impatiently awaiting results for the Spring of 2008.

Good luck to everyone!!!!

:balloons:

Count me in! Just took the NLN for one school today, and have to take the NET in the morning for another one! Finished with all the pre reqs, just waiting to get into Nursing for the Spring.......

Sweating bullets is an understatement!!! I will not find out if I have made it in for spring 08 until Oct (end of next month). I have been setting on pins and needles for the last four months. Here at my school, there are only 32 open seats and I just found out that there are 80 applications so far. Sweat, no, I am soaking wet:lol2:

whoa! just 32? how many do they accept in total? my local CC accepts 60 each semester and about 120 apply. i think of that 60, 20 slots are for 'lpn to rn' students. uggggh!

i won't know until january. :uhoh21:

I won't know until the middle of December. It is KILLING me.

Luckily I have A&P I to keep me busy. Anyone else finding out earlier than me is dead.to.me. I'm jealous.

My program (USM) has, I think, 38 open seats in Portland and 30 in Lewiston/Auburn and 140 people apply every year. I am hoping being a male with a great GPA will get me in. But you never know.

Just got an email from one of the schools I applied to.. got all excited... almost didn't open it... only to find out they wanted to know if I took statistics for my other degree! AAHHHHH! And I thought it was an early acceptance..... damn the bad luck! ;)

I know for sure that I won't get into at least one of the schools I applied to, because I went back to their site the other day (after my application was mailed off, of course) and found out that they are requiring another test in addition to the NET. Some kind of AP test, and to top that off, they have 2 more prerequisites now listed! I don't know about anyone else, but I can't figure out how an applicant is supposed to add two classes to their schedule for the fall when fall has already started!:uhoh21: Either way, I'm leaning towards the ADN program in my town vs the BSN program about 45 minutes away, because I checked out their NCLEX pass rates, and found that the ADN program has a 96%, and the BSN has an 85%! Anyone else run into anything like this?

:lol2:

I'm shooting for 1 of 20 spots in the Spring '08 RN program. I'd heard that letters might go out the 3rd week of September. I'll be lucky if I haven't stressed myself to death by then!

Does anyone have any good methods for keeping sane while waiting for the most important letter of your life?

I sent one app out at the end of June and won't know anything until mid-October (27 spots/100 or more applicants). Sent another app out two days ago and won't find out about that one until late October (40 spots for over 300 applicants) And, am sending another one out Monday (also 40 spots with over 300 applicants). I think I have one more place to apply at the end of this month as well.

I've been on pins and needles every day for the last few months! I check my email several time a day and almost attack the mailman every afternoon!

Good luck to everyone ;)

I am waiting for Spring 08 admission as well. We get our calls/letters the first week of October so my phone will be glued to my body! I am hoping they will be calling and not just sending a letter since I will be out of town during that time! The last thing I want is for my fiance to have to read that I have been declined, over the phone, and 1000 miles away. Fingers crossed for all of us!

Hey y'all,

I was told a couple of weeks ago that I will be accepted for the Spring '08 semester at my school. The "official" letter will not come for a couple of weeks but I'm so excited, even though, I don't think that it has sunk in yet that I'm going to be a nursing student come January. I'm focused on finishing my community college career with a bang, Algebra and Abnormal Psych. To everyone out there waiting, I've been there but enjoy the journey to that point as much as you will the relief once all has shaken out. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE still waiting.

Sincerely,

B

I just want to say good luck to all of you!!! I was in your shoes last month! I had myself convinced I wasn't getting in to the LPN program, then I got the letter, and my hands were shaking as I opened it and it said "Congratulations, you have been accepted into the January 2008 LPN day program" I bet you all will be accepted to your LPN/RN programs also :D

I'm waiting on an answer for my 2nd choice program and will not receive it until mid-October. I haven't really thought about it much lately because when I had gotten "rejected" from a program I was REALLY wanting to get into, I kept anticipating and getting excited when I finally got the answer (to my disappointment). I guess after the first two times of not getting in, I got used to it and now if I don't get it, OH well...just means more applications to send in...Good luck to you all!
