Consider you guys lucky somewhat with ratio of admittance and acceptance. My school takes 250 per semester and I've heard there are over 800 applicants waiting to get in! I'm one of them. We won't get our letters until mid Decemeber for the Spring 08 admittance. I just have to tell myself it's in God's hands. He knows my wants, needs and desires, so it's up to Him as to whether I get in next Fall or not. Sure I'll be disappointed but what else can I do? I guess I feel this way because of the many who are trying to get in. I hope I'm one of them! Good Luck to all of you and you can best be assured that I will post back if I do happen to get a letter saying "Congratulations!"

Anyone trying for the NOVA nursing program? I am trying to get in also, did not know it was that competitive out there. It's very frustrating because I have a 3.7 GPA, finished all the PreReq's and got a AAS out of it. Now I get to play the hurry up and wait game. Any advice out there to make a application look better. Is there anything we can add to it? or should we stick to what they ask for?

Count me in too! I took the PSB last week, and the TEAS this past Friday. I scored 79.4% on the TEAS, but I won't know about the PSB until after Sept 19th, when the interview letters go out. I'm really worried about it, b/c I didn't get finished with part one before time ran out (I don't think anyone did). One of the schools I applied to only takes 10 students for the eve/weekend class, so it's really competitive.

Hey there - you can count me in.
Even though my score was good (I got a 92%/Composite Score of 133 on the NLN), I am still nervous that for this semester, the cutoff will be higher than normal, which is normally in the mid to upper 80's.
There are 60 spots open for Spring (but I HAVE to get night) and I believe they said there are over 300 applicants normally. But they will look at this in district first and if there are any spots left (which there never are), then they'll offer to those who are out of district. Also, there are some people who don't finish what is necessary to be accepted whether it be their transcripts not being filed or not attending the most recent informational session if necessary.
I am remaining optimistic...best of luck to us all!!!

Actually at the website for my school they state that Spring applications won't be reviewed until October. Imagine my surprise when i got my letter of acceptance a week ago. I had applied last year, but because I had deferred a year before that, I think they wanted to see if I was still wanting to progress. I had heard in May/June that the Dean will give me one more opportunity! Yeah! I just mailed off my letter of intent yesterday and I'm just going to take it one day at a time. Best of luck to you all!
