CONGRATULATIONS, SunnyJohn!

:balloons: Good luck! :balloons:

Congrats to you guys on your acceptances!!

TXMOM - I am going to Cedar Valley right now too!!! Although I live in Rowlett, the only classes I needed to take were available only at Cedar Valley - a good 35 minute drive going 70 MPH!!! Anyway, all I am taking right now is A&P I on MW during the day. My kids are all in school so I can go to campus while they are gone. How far along are you? After this semester I need A&P II, Micro and Spanish. I need to go to an info meeting and get the whole process in motion (CPR, shots :sniff: , paperwork, etc.).

Wow, all the way from Rowlett? Who do you have for A&P? Will you be going next semester?

I'll be there next semester! All my pre-req's and all but one support courses are done, but I'm going to re-take English to get an A (I got a B). I'm also going to take Microbiology next semester too (it's over the 5 year limit).

I applied for Spring but got declined :( I need to go pick up my packet and re-send it for Fall.

Yes, all the way from Rowlett!! I got a speeding ticket two weeks ago - add that to my nursing school expenses!! He was a VERRRYYYY cute cop too!:nono: I have Warren for lecture and Lumbley for Lab. I have enjoyed both of them. I know Prof. Warren will not be teaching A&P II next semester becaused we asked her on Wednesday. I know Lumbley teaches almost all the labs for A&P I and II so I'm sure I'll have her next semester. I have asked several people what I should do about next semester since A&P II uses the same book that I have at Cedar Valley but the other DCCCD schools do not use this book. Prof. Warren said she would stay at Cedar Valley next semester because it would be easier for me and it would ensure that all the information I would need is covered. She said all A&P books are not necessarily the same format. So I guess I'll continue to commute. Also I have met some really great people in my class - I don't really want to leave them.

What class(es) are you in this semester and what days do you go to school? Next semester I would like to keep going on MW and add Spanish (my elective) in with A&P II. After hearing about everybody being declined on acceptance I am wondering when I should apply. I do have (at least for now!) a 4.0 and A&P II, Spanish and Micro are all I need. I guess I could always apply for Spring 2007 while taking Micro and anything else that could transfer for BSN and see what happens. Worst case I get declined and take other classes for a BSN in Spring 2007.

Warren is a new teacher I guess? I had A&P I and II with Dr. Nabi and another Dr. I forget his name..They were very nice. I didn't have Ms. Lumbley, but I know who she is, she taught lab for one of the profs when one of them were out.

I've met some great people in my A&P classes. In fact, I still keep in touch with one of them, and she's going to take Micro with me too.

I took this semester off. I wanted to take Micro but they didn't offer it when I needed it. So, hopefully, they'll offer it in the evening in Spring.

If you are going to have all of your pre-req's done by the end of this semester, I say go ahead and apply for Fall if you have a 4.0.

Maybe next semester we can meet sometime! Is it worth going to an informational meeting at El Centro? Have you gone to an info. meeting?

Prof. Lumbley is hard! Well, her tests are anyway. I don't know if I would have an 'A' in the class if I were taking any other classes. I put all my time in my books for just this one class!! That is how hard her tests are for me. Prof. Warren is a new teacher. Her lecture tests are hard too, but this last one was a little easier since she went over what major areas to study. Case in point, we can earn up to 200 points on each major test (combining lecture and lab and study guide grades). The 'average' listed on ecampus for our first test was somewhere around 140-160 (can't remember the exact numbers). This last test class average was between 114-116!!! Needless to say, our class size dropped DRASTICALLY after that test!

Are you going to try to take Micro with a specific instructor or is the time/day more of an issue for you? Many of the people in my class have mentioned a prof. that is supposed to be awesome. I have seen her around - she is a blond with short hair and I have only seen her wear scrubs. She has previously taught A&P I and this semester she is teaching Nutrition.

Sure, I'd love to meet ya! Yeah, I went to an info meeting, and it was for me at least, very informational. I'm glad I went, I went to the one at Northlake.

Yeah, our class dropped drastically too. Those tables were all full but as the semester went by, there were probably 8 of us left, in both A&P I and II. Do they still have lecture on Mondays and then lab on Wed? I hated it that way.

I know who you're talking about! Sloane? I heard she's hard, but really good. The time of day is more of an issue, even though I'm a SAHM I only have one car, so I have to wait til my husband gets home from work, also he can watch our daughter. I had her too for a day.

Yep, Sloane is her name!! I heard the same thing - very hard but awesome! Luckily for me I can go during the day to school. I don't think I would have any energy left if I waited until evening:zzzzz . But you know what, at this point, I would go wherever and whenever because I love it and want it so much!!!

I think I will check and see when the El Centro info. meetings are and work that in to the schedule somewhere.

So TXMOM, how many kiddos do you have and what are there ages?

Oh yeah, you said your kids are school age? that would make sense to go in the morning.

I only have one little girl, she just turned 3 in August.

Enjoy her while you can - she will grow up and have hormones:chuckle ! Just kidding - I really love my kids and love spending time with them and being their mom! The nursing school issue has been hard for me. I know when I get into the program all of our lives will change drastically. My volunteering at the kids' schools will be a thing of the past. Sometimes I'm not sure I'm ready for that. But I also know that God has placed this desire in my heart and He will provide and see me and us through!

How is everyone? Classes going well?

I'm finished with my Music Appreciation class...just waiting on grades.

Fun2Care,

Are you taking Algebra again or not? I know you can pass it. If so, are you going to do it in a minimester?
