Anybody thinking about El Centro/ Northlake in the DCCCD for Jan 2006?
I am so proud of you =] I still haven't taken Algebra yet but I did have to take DMAT 093 or 099. I can't remember now but the teacher said it's not much more difficult than the developmental class - they just show you a couple of more things. I wish I had as much confidence as you, but I am very visual and I don't think that the online classes would be good for me. I am on the same road as you, going ADN to BSN at UTA, but then I want to do CRNA at either TWU or TCU. It's only three extra years, but I will be in my 40's by the time it's all said and done =[ Student loans here I come.
Anyways, that's a bit off topic, but good luck to you none the less.:)
Good luck in your Algebra class, Fun2Care!!
I dropped Spanish because I was concentrating too much on Chemistry which I still have an A in and so far I have an A in my religion class. Spanish just suffered too much and I didn't want anything less than a B in that class. I recommend never to learn a language through telecourse though. I think I would have done better if I had actually gone to a class and could talk with others in Spanish. I have no one to talk to me in Spanish here.
Hope everyone is doing good!!
Thanks to you all, I'm going to try really, really hard! :)
lalajenn, I took all 3 of my Spanish classes online, but I had 3 years in high school as well. Plus, I worked in the ESL dept at the high school at the time as well. I still made B's in all three classes though. I don't think I could have made an A in Spanish in class or online.

I took 2 years of French in high school. Now if French was useful here in Texas than I would have taken that and I could have passed with flying colors. I have never taken Spanish before. Our teacher count off points for accent marks and if I am talking to someone I don't think they care where I put accent marks. All I wanted to know was Spanish while being a nurse. Oh well.
Accents I'm 'ok' with, it's the future, past, past participle, etc that I don't know.
So, if I talk to someone, 99% will be in the present tense. :chuckle (I'm sure they at least get the point...may think I'm an idiot, but oh well.):rotfl:
Hey, you'd be all set if you were to ever move up north knowing French. :)
My french consists of "french fries" "french kiss" "french dressing", etc. lol :chuckle

Hey everyone!
Who all registered for winter-mester classes?
If the Fall '06 application period is from November 1st - February 28th, how can the 6 month limit on the physical be done? Doesn't it have to be w/i 6 months of the expected entry (August)?
My plan was to finish my Algebra class (WITH AN A!!), get my transcript, and go "exchange" my application by January 26th. However, even if I waited until the last day to "exchange" the old application stuff with the new, it would be 7 months until expected entry.
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well. Hope you have/had good holidays and enjoy whatever breaks you get.
Good luck on finals. :)
Hi Fun!
I haven't been to the boards in a while - A&P I!! Need I say more! Anyway, I have been wondering the same thing - I am going to apply even though I am taking Micro and A&P II in Spring but have finished everything else! Even if we wait until the VERY last minute to get the physical and turn in our report the 6-month limit will be up by the time August rolls around. I am going to call El Centro next week and check things out and make sure I am reading the info correctly - but I must be if two of us are thinking the same thing!
I am not going to take any Winter-mester classes - my kids are home and I need to focus on my NET test study guide! Have you taken the NET? If so, any advice or any good study material in bookstores or the web?
BTW - what class(es) are/were you going to take for an "A"?

I appreciate your confidence!
That's my plan! :uhoh21: I made a B last time, so hopefully I can pull of an A this time around. I'm definitely more determined on my grades than I was before, so maybe it will all pay off. :)
Algebra in 4 weeks scares me though! I'm telling myself if I can pull off an A in an 8-week chemistry class (that I wasn't familiar with), then I can pull off an A in a 4-week Algebra class that I am familiar with!!!!! :stone
I think I'm going to take it online during the winter-mester...if I can get registered for it before they all fill up.
It took a while for me to decide if I wanted a class, or to take it online. My thinking is, I can study much more saving the driving time, not to mention gas money. Also, I was told that I could go into the classroom for help, if needed.
So, I'm going to WORK MY BUTT OFF TO MAKE AN A!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I've already started reviewing...LOL)
