  1. Why hasn't El Centro posted any new info about the nursing program.......I don't get out much, so does anyone have the new "info" scanned that they could email me.....Thanks in advance =]
  2. I had to take the accuplacer, and I attend NorthLake also. They have practice tests online that are available. I had to start in DMAT093, I have yet to take college algebra though, but my DMAT instructor said that they teach one more chapter than what we covered, and I made an A in the class. You'd be surprised the DMAT classes aren't that bad.
  3. Well, I was a SAHM until about 3 weeks ago. My DH was laid off and I have gone back to work, while he is staying home with our kids (daughter is almost 3 and son is 11 months.) I have taken only one or two classes a semester, but I have done the one's that are early in the morning so I would be home by 9 am so my hubby could go to work (when he was working), I also took a night class that was one night a week. I am taking this summer off and will start up again in the fall probably taking two classes. When I was at home, I would try to get as much of my homework done while the kids were asleep, and when my husband got home I would lock myself in the room or stay up late to finish. My advice, is to try not to procrastinate too much.
  4. I think it's weird, but I am allergic to adhesive so I can't put bandaids on, I can it they are the tape kind. My mom is also allergic to adhesives
  5. Fun, just a question...why would you need to change your degree plan? I know you need to do a degree plan before you start nursing school, but are there different ways/classes you need to take? I am confused ????? Thanks in advance =]
  6. I think you have a good plan. Ours is alike - I want to be a CRNA, too. I have two small kids and I am a SAHM so I don't plan on actually applying to the ADN program until my youngest starts kindergarten (he's 9 months old now). I am taking my pre and co reqs for both ADN and BSN programs now so I hope once I get my ADN that I will start working in Adult ICU (the MSN for CRNA requires that you work in ICU for at least 2 years). Get my BSN(that my job will pay for). Quit working and attend the CRNA program full time- I fugure I should be about 45 when all is said and done. I am glad that you have a pretty good plan going. Good Luck to you =]
  7. Oh, the Good Lord answers all prayers. Congrats....I am sooooooo excited for you....I can't say that enough....Congrats
  8. Fun, I'm still chugging on at NLC taking Sociology this semester. I am doing pretty well still on the 4.0 track. Anyways, I am going to take this summer off. My husband is going to be laid off in the middle of May so I am going to back to the workplace (yeah) for the summer....he should get called back by the time school starts in August.
  9. Sorry, i caught this thread late---but GOOD LUCK to you all the same. I am sure you will get in this time!!!!!!!!!!
  10. brklynborn- I noticed that you said you were going to an ortho doc instead of a neurosurgeon. Any reason for that? I am not trying to give medical advice, but I used to work for a neurosurgeon and many times he said that you should follow steps...surgery is your last option. Do PT first, then cortisone shots, and then surgery if nothing else helps. Good Luck =]
  11. I am not for sure, but I think College algebra is a pre req for Stats....and I read that there isn't a time limit on math anymore. Good Luck to you
  12. I would wait...you have momentum in the right direction and having a baby may throw that off (sorry if that sounds harsh.) Having two children myself, I have had to put my schooling on hold ( I take 1 class a semester) I think if you both can wait, you have an awesome opportunity in front of you and I would hate to see you lose that. Good luck in you decision -]
  13. I am taking science courses towards the end. I have started with english, sociology, psychology 1 & 2, I am going to do both historys and governments next, then my humanities, finish english 2. I think with the CRNA if you are practicing in the medical field then you could or can get a waiver. =]
  14. I have 2 small one's at home too. I have a 2 1/2 yr old and a 8 month old. I am taking one class a semester towards both by ADN and BSN. I won't be able to start nursing school until my kids are in school, but I'll get there. I hope to graduate by 2013, get my BSN by 2015, and then on to get my CRNA by 2017 or 2018. It's a long term goal, but I know I will get there - eventually. Good luck and don't give up.
  15. They do make maternity scrubs the one's with the ties on the back =] I loved wearing them. Anyways, I was able to get them at Scrubs unlimited (store at the mall)
