I'm starting chemisty this fall and after being out of school for a good 20 years, I'm scared to death. Can anyone give me some good advice on Chemisty web sites that might help me catch up with the rest of the world? tks :uhoh3:

Everyone is scared of Chem and I was too, but if you keep on top of your studying and assignments you will do fine. There are dozens of chem sites to help you along. As a matter of fact out of all my classes and sites I have looked up, Chem has the best and most useful sites. The math is not that hard ,simple stuff really. keep your head up and keep up with your studying. You will do great. If I can make a high B ,anyone can pass. Good luck to you!!!!!

I've just finished organic chemistry in a six week course and made an A

I've studied everyday after class at the library for at least 2-3 hours, and sometimes in a study group.

It was rough but it's doable.

Here are some sites that helped me:

Good luck,

I'm not taking Chem, but want to offer advice other than the great advice from others:

If you're school has a tutoring center, utilize it!!! Don't be afraid to ask for help.

Good luck! :)

Thanks so much for all the great advice. Today I became a premium of this site because I think it's the best thing i've done since I started school. It has give me motivation that I felt like was slowly sinking. Really, I want to thank everyone that answers my post, it's very helpful and refreshing.

To me Chem was the worst science couse because I really struggled to get my B+. (usually I would not struggle in anything else not even for an A)

What I recommend is that you get the math courses out of the way and the dosage calculations class (if applicable to you) my school doesn't offer it but wish it did, cause it would have helped tremendously.

Like fun2care, mentioned use the tutor center (if offered) and definetly practice and read everyday. Hey, you might even find it easy. The degree of difficulty varies from person to person. I myself have a math phobia :chuckle :chuckle

Good luck to you, :p
