Posting your Exam Grades on Facebook

Does anyone find this really annoying? I'm usually private about my grades unless a good friend of mine from class asks me..... Does the whole world need to know? This is how the posts usually look. A&P 93%... just weird to me.. anyone else feel the same?

I don't really post my grades on facebook, but I don't mind if someone is like "A in a class!!!" because I would feel super happy for them. I usually say I passed my classes instead.

I do it all the time. I don't really care what people think about it. I refuse to be silent about something I worked SUPER hard for. There have been times when I didnt do so well and my friends did. I didn't cry foul when they told me what they got. that's life. do better next time. its sad that people would rather questions the actions of others than focus on bettering themselves....

I don't post my grades. It doesn't bother me if anyone else does, and I don't particularly see anything wrong with it. Sure, there are obnoxiously cocky people out there but it transcends far beyond FB.

I don't post because u have fellow buddies that bust their booties just as (or twice ash hard as I do and end up frustrated with grades nonetheless and I would rather not add to that frustration.

I've also learned the hard way that sometimes it's best to fly under the radar, whether you're struggling or excelling.

I might put the letter grade, but not average.

With so much negativity & mess being posted on fb these days, its good to see something positive like a A or B grade being posted especially out of nursing school. With that being said, i posted tuesday on fb that i made a 98 on my med surge final & ended the class with a 91 & that was the only time i had time to post on fb because ive been to busy studying, the only reason i did because im that C = nurse kinda chick & i failed out of RN school last year & was too embarrassed to tell anybody including family & close friends & now that im in a LPN program I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF & def am proud of my "A" woohoo! I would text my family & bf every test grade good & not so good(80 was my lowest grade). I made a promise to myself that if i got another chance @ my dream that i would not take it for granted! Just be happy for them because we dont know their struggle & if its so annoying simply delete them.

No, I don't find it annoying. Usually, people who post their grades on FB are posting it because it was unusually well for them. Otherwise, I never see grades. ;) Nobody is ever like, "ugh, I failed with a 60%". They usually post like "96%!!! or 93!" or whatever. I never post my grades. They're not super exceptional or anything usually. xD

The only time it bothers me is when that person also posts at least 2 other statuses a day or shares whole life stories (looonggg posts) as their status. I have multiple people that I am friends with that I've had to delete off my newsfeed because they post every little detail of their life.

I deleted my Facebook halfway through second semester and its amazing not knowing every moment of everyone else's life. Frees up a lot of my brain for the finer things in life, like my family. (Not knocking fb just not for me..)

I agree. I deleted my account like a month before I started the nursing program. I'm a huge procrastinator and having the urge to log on to FB wouldn't be a good combo. I'm a semester away from graduating and I don't miss FB at all. The drama, BS, and everything else that people post…smh.

A in nursing seminar and B+ in fundamentals....that's what I posted on my FB.....I am 50!...and the group I am frineds with all did the same...we were proud and happy with each other...no biggie

People are still posting status updates on facebook?? Or for that matter, still using facebook?? LOL. Yes, I still have my facebook account but I haven't posted a status update in well over a year. I hardly even remember to check it except for once every month or two. Personally, Facebook turned out to be a huge waste of time for me. I decided to forgo it to focus on the relationships with the friends/family that I can personally call or physically see. I am far too busy with nursing school to keep up with a hundred or so "facebook friends" if you know what I mean. I understand that facebook is some peoples only means of communication with other people, and in that case I would probably just send a private message to those people about my grades. I understand that people are proud when they make good grades... I am too! I don't want to seem like I an bragging or that I am trying to make others who didn't do as well feel bad though. I personally wouldn't post about it, esp the specifics like "I made a 92 in blah blah."

I'm proud of the hard work I do in school, so when I make a good grade, I want the world to know! Okay, I'm kidding -- a little. But I do post my grades on FB. I only have a few friends from school as FB friends. They cheer me on with my grades, and I do the same for them. If I don't care about somebody's grade when it's posted, I do the same thing I do with all the other junk I don't care about that shows up in my newsfeed: I scroll right on past it.

I'm not trying to make anybody feel bad with my grades when I post them. It's a great way to keep my family updated (they're all over the world). Plus, I'm an older student. I've been told a couple times that my success in school has inspired a couple of my FB friends to go ahead and take the plunge back into the academic world.

I admit, I do like to brag once in a while. It's been a tough year for my family, and sometimes it feels dadgumm good to have something nice to post.
