Possible to get into nursing school with a C? Has anyone ever?

Has anyone ever gotten into nursing with a C? I received a C in English Comp 2 last semester. Quite honestly, I was happy because the class started out with 24 people and the last week of class we only had 7 people including me. I was happy I survived. Then I realized, "Oh no, there is an actual C on my transcript." I just hear how you have to have A's and B's....really only A's in order to even be considered for admission. I know nursing school is competitive. So will this affect me? Also I haven't taken Chemistry yet but for some reason I just know it's going to be extremely hard. I'm just prepared for the worse. If I get a C in that class, will that affect me too? I just hear how Chemistry is very difficult especially for people who do not take a liking to math. I like to look at all possible scenarios. I promise I'm not a negative person! ?

Also, if you did get in with a C, was it your first time applying? Or did you apply several times before with no luck?

I got a C in Microbiology. Yes, it's possible :) I got into a competitive entry program on my first try :)

I had 2 Cs, in English and Psychology, 19 years ago. My Kaplan test score was high, I have experience in a similar field, I volunteered a lot, plus I was a prior graduate of the school to which I was accepted - and that degree was in a related health field.

Keep trying, and let those Cs be minimal, and in non-prerequisite courses. Good luck to you!

I have C's in all my Science courses, my school requires me to have atleast a 2.5 GPA for Science classes only. I didn't want to withdraw so I took the C's instead. I'm retaking my Anatomy class and could possibly pull of an A if I bust my ass the next 3 weeks. I'm also taking Medical Terminology which I know I have an A in. I'm taking it again to raise my GPA, currently at a 2.8. Need to raise it to a 3.2 or higher. I'm not sure how good my chances are in getting in. My friend told me if your GPA is fairly average, but you kick ass in the TEAS test it could work to my benefit. But I'm just really nervous, planning on applying in a semester. HELP!

Thanks for posting this. I think I'm gonna get a c in physiology and been freaking out. I've had a very tough emotionally draining semester combined with difficult class, I've been in a frenzy. I just refuse to give up. I'm taking a cna class over the summer, doing some volunteering, and studying for the teas. I will work my but off. I can't won't give up *sigh*

My gpa when I was accepted into nursing school was C+. I rarely got an A in a class. I can count the A's I earned on one hand. Don't get to caught up with grades, learning is not reflected in gpa. That's why they call it "average". Many a 4.0 student has failed state nursing exams. Some, never pass the exam. If grades are really important to you, become a teacher. Lol. Just kidding. Best wishes.
