  1. I'm a single mom. I just got my can certificate so hope to find a job very soon. I'm almost done with my prereqs so prob will be taking 5-13 credits next semester. Time management is very important. And the only time I can study is after my daughter goes to sleep. It's hard but we gotta make it work.
  2. Lawd I'm a hypochondriac now and I'm still taking my prereqs...
  3. I've heard genetics is really hard. so I've been told.
  4. I didn't get the worst score but still I know a 79.3 won't cut it. I know I can retake it but don't most schools look at your first score? *sigh* I feel my dream slipping out of my hands. Anyone else upset with their teas test?
  5. My schools point system you get points for the nonscience prereqs I think like 10 if have a 4.0 in all but the science prereqs if you have As in all you'd get 40 points. I have 2 bs so far but counting on an A in micro (laws). But even with that my science gpa not that great I think like 20something. My counselor told me that the avrg point rank that get into the program starts at like 69 I'd need about 85 on my teas after adding up all my points. You do get extra points for like volunteering, having cna etc but it's literally only a few. So I am freaking out. Depending on what classes you got the c I. Makes a diff. If it was in a science, at my schools system you'd have to bank on like a near perfect teas plus many extra points, or getting picked for the lottery (there's like 5 lottery spots). But every school is dif. You'll get somewhere : ) we are in the same boat. These 4.0 ppl are depressing me haha.
  6. Procrastinate soooo much it's crazy. I wait till the last second to do just about everything knowing good and well I will be stressed out. Then I say to myself I'm gonna do the next assignment, or study for the next test EARLY. But I never do, I swear it's crazy. But lets say I do begin early on (or even wait till the last min) I also have trouble focusing. But for things likepapers, to a certain e tend I feel like I work better under pressure. But I like the extra time to go over and edit. But for studying for like a physio exam I do have enough sense not to wait the day before to do that : )
  7. You can't roll/push them to their side, then put the brief under them then do the other side.I'm still doing clinical but that's what we do. Use the draw sheet to pull them to one side if they can't do it themselves.
  8. She's just frustrated I'm sure. Op I hope you get the job. I know how discouraging the job search can be...
  9. It's easy. Mine is 6 credits but in my state you have to do 75hrs of class of 100hrs in clinical.
  10. Yes. My friends flunked micro and anatomy&physio twice. She sad she didn't go to class though. She is gong to a private school so it doesn't matter, I mean she has to retake those classes there but at least she is gonna start soon. J have one prereq left but I been taking in school forever and have a baby and having a hard time going through nursing school with a baby. But oh i wanna be a RN so bad it hurts. I'll make it work, there's plenty of other single mamas doing it. It's nice having someone who understands everything your going through with school.
  11. Im confused, doesn't on your transcript it just says A. At my school they dont have pluses, and minuses etc for each individual grade.
  12. What are ppls opinion of chem 12 and micro. Op I think you can do it!
  13. Sorry, if this has already been asked. When did you begin studying and how often? what study guide(s) did you use and what we're your scores. Seems like ppl ask one of the Qs might as well put all the info in one place. I have about a month or so to study I've gotten through the math section in the ati study guide I'm now starting the science section. I'm so freaked out at the thought of doing bad *shudders*
  14. I'm a CNA student and we're actually going over infection infect control and the instructor was telling us how hand washing breaks the chain of infection. Great, but she was saying how easily things spread for ex she said how in this resident had conjunctivitis and next thing you know the whole unit did and that this resulted from worker bad hand hygiene. Not saying YOU were careless but has anyone caught something a resident had. Esp something more serious like mrsa or something. Only thing that worries me is bringing some I feel infection home to my baby. Of course doing something wrong and hurting a resident would be another worry.
  15. How are you getting to the clinical site, everywhere you have to complete a certain number of training about 100 depending on the state. As far as the theory part I think it's good to have an instructor but I suppose it'd be ok to do online.
