National University - Los Angeles Nov 2013 Cohort
Thanks so much! I'm still in the process of taking Biomedical Statistics and a few of those other classes that I need to take before applying. I know that they don't just base it off GPA, there's also the TEAS and proctored essay. I'm aiming for July 2014 to apply for the Generic Entry program. Crossing my fingers since I'm already 22 and want to start a program already. LOL.

National University San diego July 2013 cohort 35
Hey everyone! Congratulations on those who have gotten accepted into the BSN program. I'm considering NU, but I'm not quite sure how competitive my application will be. I took (Anatomy/Physio I/II, Micro) all at a community college and got Cs. I'm re-taking Anatomy and getting an A, but when I went to a pre-nursing forum this past week they said they actually deduct points for repeated science courses. SO IM FREAKING OUT! Plus my GPA overall is at a 2.9. Even if I do extremely well on the TEAS and proctored essay will this even give me a shot to get in? I'm applying for the Generic Entry BSN program. I still have to take Biomed Stats and Information to Literacy too. I've just been so stressed out! I really want to get into Nursing school but I feel like my GPA is holding me back. Advice would be greatly appreciated!

Los Angeles Harbor College Spring 2013
Hey everyone! So I'm currently at El Camino college, but was already shot down for their Nursing program because of my mediocre Science GPA a 2.0 and they require a 2.5. I know that Harbor wants a 2.5 but they go with lottery. I'm re-taking both my Anatomy and Physiology, but they say that they don't take repeats of Sciences, even if you receive a higher grade. I'm so stuck. I really want to be a nurse, but I feel like my GPA is detering me from any sort of program. My complete last resort is private school, and just go for my BSN, but yeah. I'm not sure what to do.

Hello! This is kind of off-topic but, I'm also interested in the BSN generic entry program at National and I got C's in both Anatomy and Physiology, I'm retaking them for a better grade (A or B), do you know if they'll take the higher grade? I just recently went to a Nursing forum and I overheard the speaker say that they would actually deduct points? Is this true? I'm taking these courses at a community college to save money. But I would really like some info. Thanks!

El Camino College point system question
Hey everyone! I'm planning to apply to the Nursing program this Fall semester, and I'm not sure how "competitive" my application is going to be. My Science GPA is at a C average, but I'm re-taking Anatomy 32 to boost up my overall. All my other classes I've gotten As and Bs. I'm really nervous and don't even know if I'll be invited to take the TEAS once I applied. Is anyone else in the same boat?

Getting C's in Science Courses
Thanks for the feedback. I really need to re-evaluate everything. I really want to be a nurse but I know my grades have to be excellent. I have an appointment with a Nursing counselor this upcoming week to sort things out. I'm not giving up yet.

Possible to get into nursing school with a C? Has anyone ever?
I have C's in all my Science courses, my school requires me to have atleast a 2.5 GPA for Science classes only. I didn't want to withdraw so I took the C's instead. I'm retaking my Anatomy class and could possibly pull of an A if I bust my ass the next 3 weeks. I'm also taking Medical Terminology which I know I have an A in. I'm taking it again to raise my GPA, currently at a 2.8. Need to raise it to a 3.2 or higher. I'm not sure how good my chances are in getting in. My friend told me if your GPA is fairly average, but you kick ass in the TEAS test it could work to my benefit. But I'm just really nervous, planning on applying in a semester. HELP!

Stressing over nothing? Need advice.
Hello! I'm in my last few semester for my Pre-reqs, and I'm starting to STRESS OUT. I took all my Science classes that are required and got C's in all of them. I'm retaking Anatomy and as of now I have a high B. Striving for that A to boost my GPA. I'm meeting with a counselor this Monday to sort things out for my last semester before I apply but as of now my overall GPA is a 2.8 and I want to raise it up to atleast a 3.2 My school requires a 2.5 GPA for Sciences alone and I'm feeling stuck. Need advice?

Getting C's in Science Courses
Kill me now! My school wants a minimum of a 2.5 GPA average for Science classes. As of right now, I'm getting a B+ average in my Anatomy 32 class, taking it to raise my crap GPA. I still have one more semester to go until I apply, and I'm meeting with a Nursing counselor this upcoming week to get everything in order. As it looks right now, I have to KICK ASS in the TEAS to even have a chance on getting in. IM SO STRESSED OUT! I know grades don't make the nurse. Nursing is a TECHNICAL skill, my mother is a RN and she precepts Nursing students, and she told me that she'll have students that get really good grades but are whatever in clinicals, and vice versa. UGH!

Getting C's in Science Courses
Hii everyone! I'm currently doing my pre-reqs for the Nursing program, but I'm honestly really nervous. I'm currently holding up a C average in my Science classes. Keep in mind I still have to take Anatomy and Physio. I took a combination A&P class but still got a C in that. :/ If I do well in Anatomy and Physio getting an A or a B will that average out my C that I received in my combined A&P course? I mean I know C's aren't horrible, but their not amazing either. My GPA is at a 3.0, and I really want to raise it up before I apply. I'm also considering a CNA to gain experience. Any advice?
