Portage learning

I am applying to a nursing school and the refered me to portage learning online for my prerequisites. Can anybody tell me if portage learning is accredited? Has anybody taken classes from them before? Did you have any problems transfering your credits?

I really appreciate the help of anybody out there who can give me some info. Thank you!

Hello!

I am currently taking CHM 108 now. I am almost finished.

If you have background in chem it would help a lot. I personally struggle with chem but thanks to some tutoring from friends & family I'm getting through it. Some modules are easier than others. The instructor Ken replies to messages pretty quickly. Be sure to use the periodic table provided. Let me know if you want any more info! Hope this helps & good luck

I am in Chem 108 now. Chem is not my best subject but I'm managing. How was the final?

I did not take microbiology through Portage but I did take it at my college. Some topics are down right boring but some are very interesting. Studying was key for me & asking for help when needed. Hope that helped, good luck!

I am currently taking this and struggling. I did fine in Micro, AP1, but this is killing me. Any advice?

I just finished Chem 108 & I ended doing pretty well. My best advice would be to seek outside help when studying if possibly. YouTube videos helped me a lot. I had a friend tutor me on tougher module subjects which helped a lot as well. If you're really struggling talk to the instructor Ken, he really does want his students to do well. Good luck!

I did really well on the first test. Really bad on the first two labs and now I'm terrified of the second test. Do any of them get any easier or does it just get worse?

Some of them do get easier! Remember if you score below a 70% you're allowed one retake. Save it for a module since they're worth more points! For me the 5th module was my worst one, just couldn't get it. But there will be easy exams both in labs & modules.

Thanks!!!! I couldn't believe how well I did on the first one, but his labs just confuse me. I will save it since they are worth more:)) Right now because of my labs my average is a 71. Ugh. Going to do the best I can. Thank you again for the help.

No problem at all! You'll start to see a pattern in his labs, just pay close attention. Good luck! You'll do fine!

Aren't the labs open book? They were for my Portage A&P's.

It was very difficult I thought. I ended up withdrawing and taking it at my school, it was less expectations. I feel like the tests were very though. I think if you are good in CHem then take this online but classroom is much better.... :( Good luck but I withdrew and they gave me my money back but I did it in the allotted time frame.

No there is no open book when doing a test threw portage.

I wouldn't call it open book you can refer back to your lab notebook (double check with Ken the instructor) because we sometimes asks questions like what color what this substance.
