Portage learning

Published

I am applying to a nursing school and the refered me to portage learning online for my prerequisites. Can anybody tell me if portage learning is accredited? Has anybody taken classes from them before? Did you have any problems transfering your credits?

I really appreciate the help of anybody out there who can give me some info. Thank you!

It's your lab notebook but I seem to think the important stuff is how to do it, but he throws some odd stuff in there that I didn't think was important .

If the screen ever goes to calculations or just a long paragraph take a pic of it or pause it & copy it because that's were he'll get the questions from.

I had that on the first one, but the question he referenced through me loopy. Just trying to keep my head above water. Wish I had someone close by who could go over it with me until I understand it. Thanks for the support:)

Don't worry you'll get into a routine & it will all work out. I'm happy to help, good luck!

No there is no open book when doing a test threw portage.

There was no open book on module exams, but on the A&P courses I took the lab exams were open book (meaning, you could refer to your lab notes during them).

Hi! I actually just took module exam 1 and I found the exam to be very challenging and the fill in the blank was very difficult. How hard was your instructor on grading the exam?

I had professor Ken.

He wasn't super strict with grading. Use the periodic table that they provide not your own.

Some of the exams get easier & remember you can retake one exam over.

I'm almost done with A and P one, just have the final exam which is stressing me out because at least with the modules it was all piece meal! I don't think my old fart of brain stores that much total info!

I still have A and P 2, micro bio, chem and stats to go and I'm kind of freaking out about stats- I just don't think I can do that without an actual instructor.

Confused baout the periodic table comment- arent all periodic tables the same?

With chem they provide a periodic table that's rounded. I used a periodic table out a chem book I borrowed & I got a really low grade on my exam 2 because of it. Luckily I was able to redo it & did much better with their provided periodic table. Don't worry about stats, I am terrible with numbers & received A's in both my stats classes. It's very simplified math. Have you tried Knan academy for A & P? Great site for science, helped a lot with my pathophysiooogy class.

Thanks! I've never seen a rounded table!

I do suck at maths but I did well in stats years ago...my concern is more that Stats through Portage in terms of teaching myself. Did you do stats through portage?

No I did it during my undergrad on campus. I would watch all the videos, I find it more helpful to watch someone doing math problems then reading or listening about it.

Another question for you.. What is a good way to study for the lab exams? Im worried that they are going to be really hard. Thank you!
